I wanted Kelly, Sacre and Young gone.
Guess it's not happening.

I like Sacre, but I am not feeling Kelly anymore.. young needs to get his nose out of Iggy hand her butt and focus on the court. IJS

1. Almost $7m to sign and/or absorb contract

2. Mid-Level Exception: $5,464,000

3. Bi-Annual Exception: $2,139,000

Well Tensai, we don't have the 5.4M MLE nor the 2.1M Bi annual anymore after going bellow the cap.

We're left with the Room MLE ($2,814,000)

...and we'll see in two days what the final figure for the cap is. I'm afraid 69M might be a bit too optimistic

OMG I'm becoming the new Debbie Downer of the boards!

I'm fine with what we have no. If we could unload Young for a SF like Green that would be great. Fill the rest of the team with Black, Jabari, and maybe Upshaw if he gets his head straight. Decent start.

Since I can't see Green taking 2.8m I'd go with him, can shoot the 3 and play D why not.

This team feels incomplete without Ed Davis.

With this roster looks as if the Lakers will be at the bottom of the standings once again competing for the worst record in the league coz we ain't got the combination of vets to blend in with the youths on this roster...sad. :sorry:

??????????? Really? No vets? Wait, brandon bass is a rookie? Kobe is a rookie? I dont get it.

I think Dorrell Wright would be a nice addition and would help a lot with spacing the floor.

Team is getting better to compete for 30 wins..

I would trade Young if it means landing Josh Smith ..

Considering how bad he's fallen off over the last 3 seasons I'd rather take my chances with Nance Jr and Anthony Brown.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Dorell Wright is from LA, is still a lethal sniper from 3 and his length is an asset on defense, so if we get him relatively cheap i think we should pull the trigger. Should Nance and Brown end up stealing his minutes, then that's fine.

There's no point in getting him then.

Nance and Brown stealing his minutes. I'd rather not deal with him for half a season prior.

I'd rather just roll with Russell / Clarkson / Kobe

as the 1,2 and 3.    If Russell comes around like we hope and Larry Nance Jr and Anthony Brown start to do well enough to earn the starting position then we'd just move Kobe to the 2 and one of them to the 3.

larry-nance-jr-threw-down-a-vicious-dunk

Yes.. I'll stick with waiting on this guy to come around.  And as he was a senior, it's expected that he 'may' come around sooner more than later.   He hopefully couldn't do any worse than Wright was doing with his 12 mins off the bench and 37% shooting.   At least not when he's up to NBA speed.  Considering his was defensive player of the year.

Our lineup if he comes around would be the essential one

D'angelo Russell

Kobe Bryant
Larry Nance Jr.
Julius Randle
Roy Hibbert

Bench:
Lou Williams
Jordan Clarkson

Nick Young

Anthony Brown
Tarik Black

That works just fine for what we'd need off the bench and starting for the defensive purposes.

OR if Anthony Brown who was a sniper from deep and a supreme shooter as well as a good defender.  It can go like this

D'angelo Russell

Kobe Bryant
Anthony Brown
Julius Randle

Roy Hibbert

Bench:
Lou Williams
Jordan Clarkson

Nick Young

Larry Nance Jr.
Tarik Black

yes.. that seems more favorable imo.   With the kind of shooter Brown is, him getting wide open threes from Kobe, Russell and Randle would be gravy.

Yeah....

Here's also Brown with Stanley Johnson AND RHJ defending him

Brown is a little guy and all anyone really shows of Nance is that one dunk. There is a reason for that. We need a 3 and a backup center bad
