I can't believe we gave Sacre that extension. Ship his as outta here and let's develop Upshaw. The only productive thing Sacre did for us was helping us drafting Russell by sucking so bad on court which helped us get the #2 pick.

KOBE. #VINO. BRYANT.

Honestly Upshaw looks better in highlights than Towns or Okafor.
I guess the level of competition is not the same but damn, a 7 footer with 7'4.5" wingspan blocking shots above the rim like that is an amazing thing to watch. The guy seems to have the build and frame to be one of the biggest 7 footers in the NBA.

Upshaw's only problem is weed. Supposedly great teammate in the locker room, and willing to work and learn.

Its so tempting being in Los Angeles, I doubt he can stay away from it - he just needs to keep his cool, stay away from doing foolish things.

I wish the NBA would just ignore weed. Literally everyone does it and it's honestly no different than alcohol

Hell its legal and will eventually be legal nationwide

You don't want him underachieving like Beasley though, while it is like alcohol, not everyone can handle their drink or smoke. The bud will rob you of ambition if not used in moderation.

Obama is already working on that as well so he wouldn't have to worry anytime soon...

Even if it is made legal it does not mean the NBA has to allow their players to use it without punishment.

Upshaw has to grow more as a person rather than a player, and that is always scary. Not many players come into the league and then straighten out, normally it is just a downward spiral once they make it big time.

Where did you read that it is specifically weed and not harder drugs?
If it's just weed, this is merely a logistical issue, not a potential health or character issue.

Summer League has already started but we don't play till the end of this week.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Los Angeles Lakers Updated Summer League Roster

CI7t63LW8AA6TTK.jpg

D'angelo Russell / Dwight Buycks / Xavier Munford

Jordan Clarkson / Jabari Brown

Anthony Brown / Will Davis II (UCI!)

Julius Randle / Larry Nance Jr  / Tony Mitchell
Tarik Black / Robert Upshaw

CJFolJrUkAEWE3b.jpg

If you don't know Tony Mitchell...

He's a near 6'9 defensive power forward with elite athleticism and bounce.  As well as huge hands and a 7'2.5 wingspan and 8'10.5 standing reach.  At the combine off of a two step vertical leap he put up 38, so with a head of steam it's probably in the 40s.

He'll be fun to watch if Russell and him both get on the fast break together.

All and all that's our entire summer league roster :) Updated and current ^_^

Also gotta give a shoutout to Will Davis II.  UC-IRVINE!!!

Brown is an SF and Nance a PF, so is the right decision.
