Rumor: Ben Affleck To Direct Next Batman Solo Film For 2018 Release

batmanbenaffleck-141186.png

Argo screenwriter and director are reportedly collaborating once again for the next Batman solo film.

Latino Review claims The Dark Knight himself Ben Affleck (The Town) will direct the next Batman solo film, which they believe is titled, The Batman.

WB is supposedly targeting a November 2018 release date for The Batman. That would put it in competition against Marvel's female-led superhero movie Captain Marvel.

Chris Terrio, who took over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice screenwriting duties from David S. Goyer, is said to be penning the script to The Batman. Keep in mind, Terrio is also penning the script for both Justice League films. If true, he'll be a busy boy.

This is the greatest news I've heard thus far about it.  Affleck and Terrio both working on the Batman Film, and Terrio writing both Justice League Movies.   THIS is great news!

This is why he replaced bale. So DC would have him to direct gigli with a mask.

For some reason reading the 2018 in title felt weird. It sounded like a distant future as if I'm living in 2010 now.

So done with Batman in all forms right now.

They really need to let it lie dormant for a while.  The character is tedious and hackneyed at this point.

I don't think the Nolan Batman movies did terrible enough to merit Batman "going away" for years like Batman and Robin did to the franchise.

Batman will stick around.  Just like the other superhero movies.  You're in the Golden age of Superhero films, Batman isn't gonna 'disappear' during that time. You'll likely just see more of him.

Batman will "rest" when other Superhero movies rest.  Likely after Infinity War Part 2 and the Green Lantern Movie.

So somewhere around 2023.

Nolan [expletive]in' saved Batman lol.

Without his brilliance the character wouldn't be where it's today.

Hopefully Snyder doesn't [expletive] it up soo bad that Affleck has to direct and star in a masterpiece of a movie just to save Batman again.

Since 2000

Batman has had 3 films which was the Nolan Trilogy.

Iron Man and Captain America have starred in 5(6 if you count Chris Evans cameo in Thor: The Dark World) and 7 if you count Tony Stark's Cameo in The Hulk

Hulk has starred in 4 with 3 different actors.

Thor has starred in 4 with a 5th along the way.

Spider-Man has had 5 and averaged out to one every 2 and a half years (the average amount of time between sequels).
Heck the X-Men have had with an 8th on the way.   But I'm sure everyone's excited for Apocalypse.

The only Superhero that's been seen less than Batman in the Movie Universe in the past 15 years of those that had movies has been Superman whom has had 2.  Black Widow has been in more movies than Superman AND Batman as she's been in 4. One less than Batman AND Superman combined.

So.......

I just hope he can be a good batman and not another DareDevil. Im more a Superman fan but if Ben butchered batman, I will feel sorry for the batman fanboys out there.
