Ice Cube will revisit his gangsta past later this month, when he performs numerous N.W.A songs with MC Ren and DJ Yella at a Los Angeles concert. "It's just gonna be a great night," Ice Cube tells Rolling Stone of his BET Experience gig at the Staples Center on June 27th. "We're gonna be there with Snoop, Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q. It's just gonna be one of those 'I wish I were there in L.A. nights.' And we're gonna rock that s_ _ _, no problem."

...

Will Dre be at the Staples Center, too?
You know, if you wish upon a star, you never know [laughs]. You never know. It's like, I hope he blesses us with his presence. But if not, I've been rockin' for a long time without anybody. So whoever shows up, I'm still gonna rock. Whoever don't show up, we still gonna rock.

Are you guys working on new music for the Straight Outta Compton soundtrack?
We're definitely dibbling and dabbling, so to speak. It's all about how great it comes out when you're creating something. We can throw anything together; we can put rhymes and beats together easy. But our expectation level is so high, and if we meet our threshold, the world gets to hear what it is. If we don't, we still need more time together to make it happen. It's really some TLC, tender love and care, being put into these records. We'll see what it is.

What do you think Jerry Heller will make of the Straight Outta Compton movie?
I don't care.

Man, I wish I was in LA for that show...as someone whose formative music years was spent listening to NWA, I would LOVE some new music from them.  That would be amazing.

If it meets the expectations then it's gonna be put on Dre's Detox album and then shelved for another 20 years.

A reunion where they play their classics and rock the house would be sweet.

However, I wouldn't be too enthralled with new music by them. Ice Cube, Dre, Ren, all are probably past their prime as far as rappers and musicians. I haven't had Dre blow me away with his production in probably a decade and I haven't really felt an Ice Cube album since Lethal Injection

The War & Peace double album is really, really good ! I heavily recommend it.Give it another listen, it will be worth it. Laugh now, cry later had some good bangers too and Raw Footage is underrated, it really grew up on me.

It probably wouldn't be great, but helping me relive my youth, hearing these guys perform, hearing new stuff from them and remembering how much I anticipated new stuff from them back in the 90s, I want to recapture that...relive my youth one more time.   If I could get out to LA to see that show, I'd be there in a minute.

Listen to War and Peace, Laugh now Cry later, Raw footage. All solid albums

Dr Dre has couple of features on Kendrick, 50 cent, Snoop and Eminem songs.

That era is over and done with and Cube hasn't put out quality music in years.  His son's are now rappers but they are trash and so is Lil Eazy.  DJ Quik's son is a pretty decent rapper though.

Still waiting on Detox.

Not going to happen anytime soon.

Game said it in a interview.. If you dropped a product and made a profit of 1 billion, would you have any reason to drop a album? I guess not.

Dre doesnt have anything else to prove. He said all he wanted to say in 2 albums and especially in the last album.

They have to at least make one new song to go with the movie. Even as old as they are I know if they came together, they could cook up something hella dope.
