Billy Donovan's five-year deal with Oklahoma City is worth approximately $30 million, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

No word from Durant yet?

Wasn't his decision to make

But they did ask him, and he did consult others in the league who played under Donovan before

His ass will be sitting on hot iron next year.  OKC definitely will have chemistry issues next season when both westbrook and Durant are healthy.

They're prepping for a rebuild.  Donovan is gonna be their coach when they are headed to the lottery within the next 2 seasons.

Thunder don't seem to be banking on either Westbrook or Durant to stay. If they did, they would have waited for Thibodeau and get him to sign there. College championship experience is one thing, coaching superstars in NBA another. It's gonna be a loooong season for Thunder. This surely doesn't make Durant to commit early, so they will be distracted by trade / FA talks throughout the year.

That fast ? I thought it would make sense to get a coach with a tracking record or at least coached in the NBA rather than a college one. Not sure what direction this team is heading into with this hiring ..

This has the feel to it like it has been in the works for a very long time.  I dont know about Maj's rebuild conjecture but OKS seems to view Donovan as a long term hire, not an appeasement to their stars.  That would have been Ollie.

Sources: Thunder consulted w/ Durant on the hiring of Donovan, but not Westbrook... This has Westbrook upset with organization...

@ChelseaRenee87 It's not your bday, but might as well celebrate like it is.. Westbrook apparently upset at Thunder organization.

Come home, Russ. lol

Why would Westbrook come here as constructed? He'd sooner wind up on the Clippers for Redick,Crawford and Jordan before he wound up here for Ryan Kelly and Jabari Brown.
