Why is this game doesn't get much love on here?  I personally cannot wait for this game to come out. I already preordered it on steam. Was planning to get it for my PS4 so i can get the steal book case but since I already had the witcher and wither 2 on steam, they gave me a huge discount. This game could be the GOTY contender since a lot of "triple A" games were kind of over hyped and under deliver.  I think because not many people own a gaming PC   that they havn't played the first two games yet and cdproject is kind of an unkown developers but seriously, the reviews for this game so far is all great and got gold labeled. Over 200 hours of open world game play? I love the witcher 2 and i can't wait to get this game.

I am also waiting patiently for this game, I will grab it on ps4.

I think this will be GOTY unless Fallout drops later this year which will probably overtake it simply due to its hype.

I found the witcher 2 combat pretty hard, thought it was rougher than blood borne is. Maybe because the mechanics felt a little wonky though.

Might not grab this day one since I am finishing up bloodborne and just got diablo 3, so I might hold off since I wont be able to play it plus there is always the possibility that day one the game has a [expletive] ton of bugs and doesn't run smooth. However, cd projekt red is very unlikely to release a game with a lot of bugs on day one.

I have yet to play the first two games... I bought them on Steam some time ago, but I was playing other games at the time, so I kind of put them on hold.

Anyway, I already played a bit the first. Story and characters are fabolous. I'll pick it up again soon.

The Witcher 3 is probably going to be one of the best games of 2015, together with GTA V. It looks really awesome.

I played the first two. The first one was ok. I didn't like it that much. The second one was a lot better but its not much of an open world. This one they totally changed almost everything besides some combat technique and such. Its an open world that is two times bigger than Skyrim. (so they said).  CDProject said that this is the most ambitious games they ever put out. Reason why I think it will be great is because that developer only concentrate on one franchise which is the Witcher while other big developers too busy with other games that sometimes they dont put all their effort into one game.

The more game play I see from this game the more I can't wait to get my hands on it. This game is the front runner for GOTY in my opinion.

Preordered The day it was available. Can't wait to get my hands on this. just waiting and reading info, backstories, history about the witcher. It definitely has the potential to be GOY. And they did everything the right way for this game.

For people who never played any Witcher game, here are things that can help people get the idea of what the witcher game is about and what NOT to expect out of this game.

1.  Please whatever you do, do not going into this game expecting it to be like Dragon Age or Skyrim. I have no idea why people keep on comparing this game to skyrim or dragon age. Is it because of the medieval theme? This game is more like Legend of Zelda. And for God sake do not bring up bloodborn with comparison. You CANT create your own character so don't expect or complain that you can't create characters here. You play as Geralt and thats it.  When developer compared the world to Skyrim, it doesn't mean they comparing the two games. All they do is compare the world not the game itself.

2. A very mature theme. Not because of the violence even though it has more gore and realistic grusomness than other action adventure game. It is mature because of the sexual scenes you will encounter on your quest and plenty of curse words. Geralt is a casanova and he tends to want sex almost every hour or 30 min. He will do any hot chick you see in the game and since every sorceres you see in this game looks like a victoria secret model popping cleavage everywhere, he tend to want to get tail a lot. The sexual scenes are like like hentai soft porn at times. You can see tities and a part of the pupic hair. Not anything hardcore though but definitely not for kids. So if you have kids, don't play this in front of them. (but parents play GTA in front of their kids anyway so whatever).

3. Decisions in the game will affect the outcome of the game. They said its like a Mass Effect style game but to be honest, this game will give you 30 different endings while mass effect give you 3 crappy endings that is all pretty much the same.  So its a lot better than mass effect in terms of the choices you make in the game. So unlike dragon age and skyrim where there arent much of a story to go by (especially skyrim), this game became popular because of the story and the books. So story is a huge factor in this game.

4. Do not rush through this game. Yes I know the 200+ hours can be pretty scary at times and like me I dont have 200+ hours of gameplay like i used to when I was young. However, this is not the type of game you can rush through. Believe it or not but many side quest can affect the main story also. I made a mistake by rushing through the witcher 2 and I got a pretty crappy ending. I replayed it and took my time and i had a much better ending. And the witcher 2 doesnt many 30 endings like this one. It only has 4 endings if I was correct. So the side quest can be very important. You might need to put in atleast 70 hours to get a full taste of this game.

5. Fighting System.  From what I see so far with the gameplay, the fighting system is kind of the same as the witcher 2. I need to see how the upgrades and leveling up is like for this game. The tip of being good at this game is easy. Learn to use your signs correctly.  Aard, Yrden, Ignis, QUen, and Axii.  This is not a simple hash and slash game. Someimtes you need to know how to use the correct potions and signs to beat a boss or an enemy. While this game is not hard like dark souls or bloodborn, the challenging part is knowing when to use magic and potions.

3.

Reviews already coming out for it. IGN gave it a 9.3 and gamespot gave it a perfect 10.

From the reviews it seems the game is everything I initially expected from it. There are minor bugs the reviewers have said, most likely will be fixed with an early patch or two. Only thing stopping me from getting it day one, might just wait to hear how rampant these bugs are before I pick it up.

Looking forward to sinking endless hours into this game, which I won't mind because it is months before another game I am interested in is gonna get released.

The divison has been moved back to 2016 and MGS5 comes out 9/1. Now Batman comes out the end of June, so that is the closest one to release. I enjoy the batman games, but not really a day one buy for me considering they only require one play through and they won't make you spend 100 hours playing it, also I am bias towards it since I am extremely upset there has yet to be a good superman game ahah

Game is amazing.

Yep, I am loving it so far. Two big compliants is I hate the fact you need to see the command prompt to interact with anything, very annoying when you have to be at such a specific angle to get something to actually register. Also the combat seems pretty stiff to me at times, dodging back always puts you out of range, while dodging to the sides allows for a quick counter attack normally they just jump back and counter you. IDK the mechanics for fighting just seem like they could use some tightening.

Have already sunk around 15+ hours into the game though, other than those gripes I am having a great time. Can't wait for my build to really take shape and have Geralt be more of a badass combat wise.

Am I the only one that is getting bugs when they play? I play on the ps4 and sometimes when I fast travel to an area and go to meet an npc to talk they wont be there, but if I wait for about 15 seconds they finally spawn there. Also during certain cut scenes there have been people there were not involved in the convo just standing right between Geralt and the other NPC . They were stuck in animation just standing there and have nothing to do with the conversation. Hopefully a patch comes out soon fixing some of these things.

Yea I saw an item that does it, one of the herbalist sold it. I think it was pretty pricey though either was 100 or 1000.Any idea what type of build your going for? I think Im just gonna go most for his sword skills and just upgrade the signs I really use in combat most (Quen, Igni, and yrden)

I played parts of Witcher 1 and 2 so i understand a little bit more of the Lore than a new comer, but even at times I am a little lost. I think for the most part though they do a pretty good job at introducing parts of the world to the player. Gotta realize the lore and world in this game is very deep and expansive. It isn't an easy task to make something that is so in depth be simple to understand all the factors right away.

Unsure as to my build, which is why I was wondering if there's anyway to reset... lol

So far, I've put points in sword skills, quen and the trap spell. Except I'm not really using the trap spell anymore, straight up wasted 3 points on it.

^^ I have found the second version of yrden (the trap spell) to be much more useful. It actually damages enemies and does a decent amount of damage, it still slows them as well. There is a way to reset it but I forget which herbalist I saw with the potion to do it. I like the way the skills are set up because you have to pick stuff to focus on, with only 12 slots you can't make Geralt really good in every aspect, but you can make him deadly  in specific areas.

all patches will be out for consoles by this weekend so no issues. All the patches already out for PC but then again cd project was strictly a pc developer so no surprised.  I have no issues playing on my pc so far.

Yea. I pretty much max out as much sword combat strikes as I can since those are my main attack mode. Yrden is a great spell to maxed out.  All the witches and wraith you fight in the game need a yrden to make the fight a lot easier. I pretty much use yrden in every boss fight.
