The top hitter of all time. Let him in the HOF because he belongs there and move on.

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Major League Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred says he has received a formal request from Pete Rose asking that his lifetime ban be lifted and that he will consider the all-time hits leader's request "on its merits."

"I want to make sure I understand all of the details of the Dowd Report and Commissioner [Bart] Giamatti's decision and the agreement that was ultimately reached," Manfred said after a meeting with Los Angeles Dodgers players in Arizona on Monday morning. "I want to hear what Pete has to say, and I'll make a decision once I've done that."

Doesn't belong in any way, shape, or form. He compromised the integrity of baseball, using his power as manager to influence outcomes of games. There's not much worse you can do in sports.

He's an idiot, a man of low character, pissing away what he has left in Caesars Palace signing memorabilia.

then no baseball player from 1999-2013 should be allowed into the hall of fame due to the steroid scandal.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

The big roid users won't get in. The players that didn't like Craig Biggio and Ken Griffey will.

Players like Canseco, McGwire, Bonds, Sosa, etc, don't deserve to be in either.

Just get off that [expletive]in' high horse and let him get in already and be done with it. There's plenty of low moral & cheat players in baseball throughout its history. Many whom we probably don't even know about & never will.

Doesn't take his records away. He could still bet on ball I'd induct him. How about putting him on the ballot let voters decide.

MLB isn't going to let him in now PERIOD...no way, no how

unless this report is somehow refuted...at the end of the day, he's been lying to them for years, and his previous argument for getting in used to be that he never did it as a player, and never his own team...but now that both of those are false, it's over

he also maintained for the longest time that he didn't bet at all until he finally come clearn recently. so basically he's been lying about this the entire time.  if he manned up to this stuff years ago, perhaps he'd have a shot, but after this, no way
