Since the Rondo trade thread is locked, I thought I probably post it here lol, I apologize for the bump.

Testy exchange between Rick Carlisle and Rajon Rondo seemingly sparked by Rondo missing (or ignoring) Carlisle's call for a timeout.

Good. I'm still not sure why some you love Rondo so damn much. What he did in a few playoff games 3 4 years ago means nothing in regards to next year and beyond. He's been beyond terrible in Dallas

Sadly, I think Rondo is leaving Dallas and the Lakers will probably pursue him. At this point, I would rather have Dragic or a rookie at PG next season, but fingers crossed that they don't do anything silly this summer.

and like that Rondo gets benched on the 4th and Mavs outscored Raps by 11 to take the lead in that span. They were down 9 before the scuffle lol.

Dallas has been better with Harris and Barea sharing PG duties and I can confidently state that after only paying attention to only a handful of games.

rondo was the reason the big three in boston was so successful.. unsung hero in many ways. He just doesn't match in mav town and he came late into the rotation.

Rondo will likely be worth a lot less to spend by the end of this season barring Carlisle making it all click come playoff time.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

March 8th.

Mavs @ Lakers

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

That has little to do with 2015-16 and beyond though.  The more Rondo had control of the offense the less efficient it became.  The problem and I've said before that dude is out there assist chasing and isn't looking to score when it's available and he obviously has issues hitting jumpshots.  This hurts spacing and flow.

The Big 3 never won a championship with Rondo as the "star".  Sure he had some big games against Lebron but so what they still lost a winnable series where Bosh missed 4 games.  They weren't that good.

Rondo now still has the same issues but worse and would be a terrible fit on the court Kobe and isn't really a future piece worth investing in.  The love he gets is all based on fandom and reputation he's NOT a top 5 PG and you could definitely make a case he's not top 10 right now by a good margin.

Rondo is good when he has 3 future hall of famers on the court with him. The Lakers roster will not have that, there is no point in pursuing Rondo. Knowing the Lakers they will max him out. The name on the back of his jersey is worth far more than he produces.
