Really really like this pickup
I watched him in the preseason, and he had something special about him. He is active, and forces people to alter shots around the rim.

Not a big dude. But he is super active.
Performed alright when he was starting for Houston.

He was one player who I said, ''i would like this guy on the lakers'

Now lakers need to do a 2 for one swap, and sign Quincy miller (I haven't given up)

If I'm the Lakers, I eventually offer up Jordan Hill for Tristan Thompson, Joe Harris and a 1st.   If they get desperate.

They could lose Thompson in the off-season and they are 'making a run' so they could part with their pick.

That would give us a lineup like this moving forward, bolded is inactive/

Ronnie Price
Kobe Bryant
Wesley Johnson
Carlos Boozer
Ed Davis

Bench:
Jeremy Lin / Jordan Clarkson / Steve Nash (injury)
Wayne Ellington / Joe Harris

Nick Young

Tristan Thompson / Julius Randle (injury)

Tarik Black / Robert Sacre (Sacre)

That doesn't look bad at all honestly.

Especially being we could probably keep Thompson, re-sign Davis, re-up Black and Harris for about the same amount it'd cost to give Jordan Hill his 2nd year.

That and we'd have a first round pick either next year or the year after that and if LeBron or Love left the Cavs at years end our pick could very well be in the lottery in the Thon Maker draft that's following the next.

So it would be an extremely solid move for the Lakers.

Obviously stats in such a small time aren't reliable but for the 11 games he started on the Rockets this season he averaged as a starting center:

5.8 PT, 6.8 Rebounds on 55.4% shooting in 20 minutes

If he can do that for us 20 minutes a game consistently this could turn out to be a good pickup long term.

Any lineup with Ronnie Price, Johnson, and Boozer starting is not good.  In fact, it may be wretched.  But sadly, a sign of the times.

Even classier if they could somehow give him access going forward...but im not sure league rules would allow it

Ask and you shall receive

@Mike_Bresnahan: Lakers asking league if they can keep treating Xavier Henry, who tore his Achilles last month. Was waived yesterday to make room for Black.

@MarkG_Medina: Lakers are still allowing Xavier Henry to work at their facility to rehab

Even classier.

Very nice of Lakers to help with X's recovery/rehab.

I misread the above post and thought Wes was waived.  Got happy for 2 seconds before realizing that I misread :|

It will actually be a good sales pitch to players. If you get hurt and we waive you - you can still use our rehab facilities.

It will probably not do it for the likes of Durant ... but may work for bench players who may get hurt playing in garbage time or in practice :)

Also Mitch was taller than Dwight so I don't worry about his height in terms of his defense. That 8'11 standing reach is what makes him a defender/rebounder

Probably not as he hasn't practiced.  But who knows.  He may throw him in if Sacre is messing up as he has the option now without spending Hill or Davis.

Hoping we trade Jordan hill and sacre opening up room for him.

Let's get something for Lin, a young prospect like MKG or Otto porter

And then something for hill and sacre like waiters

Imagine pulling off something like that

Lin and Johnson for porter and seraphin
Hill and sacre for waiters and a contract

Davis/ black
Boozer/ Kelly
Porter/ young
Kobe/ waiters
Price/ clarkson

That's what I'd LOVE to see
