I feel bad for xavier but thats the nature of the business.. I wouldn't be surprised if the lakers invites xavier next year in the training camp.. "If he is available to play" thats just how classy the lakers are.

I've seen a lot of Tariq Black, given that he came out of Kansas, and if Byron gives him the minutes, he can be a contributor off the bench. He'll grab boards for us, for sure, and he's going to contest a lot of shots. He's still having trouble passing the ball, but he's not going to be fed in the post until he develops his offensive game a bit more, so that will be okay for now.

He's not a starter today, but he has potential to be a double-double guy 1-3 years down the road...and not a 20/10 player, but the ceiling of a 15/10 with a notable defensive presence.

Would you work him with Kareem?

Kareem only works with superstars. Unless you're trying to tell us that he's the next big thing.

Kareem doesn't have time to work with just anyone that comes knocking.

Alright, maybe if he charges a hefty price per hour session, I'm sure he could do a solid 8 hours. HAHA.  I wonder if Jordan ever shows up to train with some of his players on the Hornets, or is he too much of a big shot to do any of that anymore?

Would you work him with Kareem?

Nah. Black needs to establish his basic fundamentals, and a guy like Boozer can help him with that.

Tarik Black's # with Lakers is 28, otherwise known as DJ Mbenga's former number

I thought Lakers retired Mbenga's number.

Got a sinking feeling the guys over at Deportes are gonna get in a wee bit of trouble with Black now on the team.  :cool2:

Praying for  1. Youngsters Ballin (Hockey stick growth curve for Randle, D'lo, Nance and Clarkson ASAP) 2. Miracle Trade (Lakers need a top 10 player...or maybe 2 to compete w bigboys) 3. Kick Ass Rooks (Ingram and Zubac getting playing time and impacting games)

READY FOR SEASON!

Funny!

btw Lakers usually wait until player makes HOF to retire the uni.

Shaq and  i think Magic were exceptions and had theirs hung before HOF induction.

He's either 6'8 or 6'9. The angle doesn't really do much for his height.

It's his 8'11 standing reach, strength and athleticism that allows him to compete and pull down rebounds at center.   His wingspan is also 7'2.

All and all he's about the same height, weight and build and hustle of a prototypical Ben Wallace 'type'.   So defensively it shouldn't be an issue if he works at it.
