Any move that results in less playing time for Sacre is a good move.

In his defense, as bad as he is, at least he's here supporting the team unlike that other Canadian.

Tarik Black's # with Lakers is 28, otherwise known as DJ Mbenga's former number

That was a cool gesture by the Laker to hold onto Xavier so he could have access to rehab. Nice move by the Lakers.

Even classier if they could somehow give him access going forward...but im not sure league rules would allow it

Praying for  1. Youngsters Ballin (Hockey stick growth curve for Randle, D'lo, Nance and Clarkson ASAP) 2. Miracle Trade (Lakers need a top 10 player...or maybe 2 to compete w bigboys) 3. Kick Ass Rooks (Ingram and Zubac getting playing time and impacting games)

READY FOR SEASON!

btw...in a season of tough moves and tough decisions lakers have been forced to make, this is one of those im sure Mitch didnt like doing.

And making that call to X must've been awful.

Not sure how thats done, if Mitch contacts him or does it thru his agent..

But its one of those small non game scenarios that really interest me from a business/longtime fan perspective.

The machinery behind the machine as it were

You'd think the league has some program available to players injured on the job like X was. Seems to only make sense.

I liked the few minutes I saw him play in Houston.

Hopefully he gives the Lakers good minutes while he's with us.

I've seen a lot of Tariq Black, given that he came out of Kansas, and if Byron gives him the minutes, he can be a contributor off the bench. He'll grab boards for us, for sure, and he's going to contest a lot of shots. He's still having trouble passing the ball, but he's not going to be fed in the post until he develops his offensive game a bit more, so that will be okay for now.

He's not a starter today, but he has potential to be a double-double guy 1-3 years down the road...and not a 20/10 player, but the ceiling of a 15/10 with a notable defensive presence.

I like Black because he is still "only" 23...I think he still has a tiny bit of room to improve. It's his first year. He started for Houston when Dwight was out and he showed he can actually play in the NBA (far more than Sacre).

Suddenly, you have Clarkson (if he ever plays), Randle, Kelly and now Black..all young guys who can be decent rotational players. Hopefully we can add a top 5 pick to that as well.

I hope randle can be more than a decent rotational player but ya I really like clarkson and blacks athleticism

Kelly has skill and smarts to be a guy who gets consistent minutes and can start for a few games because of injury

I think the trio of clarkson, Kelly and black may comprise our bench for years to come. The potential is there though for black to start eventually depending on how his game develops.

I haven't seen much but what I've seen is a guy who can move his feet and play defense which is enough for me and when you combine that with a guy who's not inept offensively you have a bonfide nba big man
