Lol that's cold

How? Which Lakers fan wouldn't want to exchange one of them with JR? It's not like I'm talking about them being killed.

It's been one game and I'm already emotionally exhausted.

The fact that he played in this game...I think even if he misses the rest of this season, he still will not be eligible for the ROY next season...is that right ?

nope, when he played a second it pretty much counts as his rookie year from this point forward.

That's what I said. And that kinda sucks. I mean there should be a certain amount of games that has to be played first. If a rook gets hurt in his first few games...he still should qualify for the Award the following season. BS Rule!!

JULIUS RANDLE @Lakers Good news: no ligament or tendon damage. Bad news: fractured tibia. Likely surgery. Out minimum 4 months.

So maybe Feb or March? They could just call it the season.

ROY award is pretty pointless anyway, look at some of the past winners and how their careers have turned out. To win it you need to get a lot of minutes on a terrible team. We're a pretty bad team but Randle wasn't going to get 35 minutes a game like Jabari Parker or Elfrid Payton will.

He'll be fine. He'll likely be back this year.

That being said - big man with two leg injuries. Probably trade if possible.

Not likely, Oden's issues are far more than a broken bone.

From the looks of it, Randle fractured his right tibia with his left foot.   He took off, his leg swung so fast while his right foot was still on the ground and that clashed and that is what caused the break.

That's just super..super unfortunate.

Fractured is better than broken, even though it really means it's still broke.

Seeing Julius Randle get injured almost tops one of the saddest moments I've witnessed as a Laker fan.

Goes up there with losing to the Celtics and Pistons in the NBA Finals... It actually hurts even more.

Hurts worse when Duran makes a point of pointing out that Randles mom flew in to watch her son's first NBA game and you know how close they both are.

Its really tough becuase you realize quickly this was probably one of the best night of his life. A dream come true and it all went to hell. Like a bad dream.

Exactly... he basically experienced the highest of all highs as well as the lowest of all lows within a matter of just seconds.

Really places things in perspective for any athlete.  I mean yeah, its not the end, but he's got a long road ahead.

I honestly can't recall a top 10 prospect ever getting seriously injured in there debut game... anyone else???

Blake, but it happened in pre-season so it doesn't count as his rookie year.   Jordan but I think that was his 2nd year.

Injuries continue to become more and more a major factor in pro sports. Very tough for Julius. At least it doesn't look career threatening, so he just needs to be patient, work hard, come back strong.
