Right now I have a pair of Beats solos. I like them, but I was given them by my brother, IDK if I'm down with spending like 200 for a pair of beats studios. Especially when i know there are headphones that are just as good that are cheap.

Solo 2 is much better than previous beats if you care a more balanced sound. Basically you'll hear more detail in your music vs the older beats (which is way to bassy).
Audio Technica is also good, but if you like beats sound, then maybe it's not for you. I personally like more neutral sound with a bit emphasis on bass, which is what the AT M50 is. Better if you find a place where you can try these headphones because it's an individual thing.

AT does make great sets. I wouldnt not recommend them.

But I always tell people to get the set thats mixed more platinum and gold artists than any other.

AKG K240 and up series starting at $84 (on sale atm, usually $99) all the way to the K712 Pro Legends for $899.

The sound is so crisp and real. Even bland synth hi hats that hip hop producers love to use sound live. Theres a huge difference in the way the frequencies are so clear.

Heres a link, but they sell all over the net.

I personally recommend Bose audio. Top of the line products but I'm not sure what to recommend for under $150 dollars. But you should definitely look into Bose.

I love my Bose headphone but i've seen the cords crack on 2 pairs. I tweeted them & they replaced one of the pairs for free. The other was a older model so they said they'd be a small charge on that pair.
