who was xavier's coach during his tenure with new orleans? was it b. scott? just wondering coz if it was b scott then i dont think he'll start henry and i have a feeling that his mins will be reduced unless b. scott sees that he's improved a lot to his liking

This Laker roster is the type that training camp will determine the rotations and starting lineup. Then it will be in flux for much of the early season as players develop and get used to playing with one another. Anyone counting on Nash playing any significant minutes is dreaming. I do believe that Randle will be brought around slowly but hopefully he will be impossible to keep off the court with dynamic play. Sure bets to start IMO,

Kobe...duh

Lin...duh

Boozer....gotta go with the vet that started on a playoff team

and that's it...the other 3 positions will be up for grabs for who ever fits in the best with those three, my guess, and that's all it is, they will be,

Hill at the 5, too much experience playing against bigs around the league to not start

Here's the toughest one the 3, Young, Henry, Johnson....out of those 3 I think Young will be more valuable coming in off the bench, Johnson as well as a defensive specialist, so I think Henry could get that spot.

Now I've heard rumblings around the net talking about Shawn Marion being interested  in playing for the 2.7mil exception the Lakers have available, that could solidify the starting unit IMO.

Not a bad first post...with the exception only 5 positions available to start, not 6.

Praying for  1. Some Cohesion (Ill fitting parts with young bucks, new guys, and those playing for next contracts may muck things up all season) 2. Better Coaching, No More Tanking (Last season was more of the latter but not sure how much of the former we can count on. Walton with something to prove this season as much as any Laker player) 3. Rookie Watch (Hoping Lonzo outshines his daddy (ROTY??), and Kuzma finds minutes and makes a push for all rook 2nd team)

READY FOR SEASON!!!

Not sure why Wes should be starting over X. Maybe until he full recovers 100% from his injury.

I dont know why the lakers pushed so hard to get henry and wes. Evan turner and beasley were still available when we signed them. Both of them could play the small forward position.

I'd rather start Lin/Kobe/Young. Lin/Kobe/Wes would have a lot of problems spacing the floor unless Kelly starts for some reason.

We've seen what Henry and Wes can do, and they genuinely seem to enjoy playing for the Lakers.

Henry was one of our best defenders and was exceptional at driving it in or drawing fouls. He could shoot the 3 and was showing signs of a decent midrange game as well with the step-back jumpers. One of the most prominent cons is he is not a good FT shooter and has been injury prone. Wes's main role was to perform as a 3 and D type of player. During the first half of the season, he was rather consistent but struggled down the road. Part of that can be attributed to MDA's indecisiveness over his role. Nonetheless, while only shooting 43% overall from the field, he shot 37% from 3. He averaged a block and a steal per game. And often had games with a large number of rebounds, as shown by his 11/11 and 15/15 game. The second to last game of the season, he scored 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, and 3 blocks...pretty impressive even though the Jazz didn't offer much competition. This year Wes will focus more on defense, cutting, and taking smarter shots with Lin and Kobe on the court.

Turner hasn't shown much effort on the defensive end at all. Once he was traded to Indiana, he couldn't even seem to find his shot either. Beasley has moved from one team to another due to attitude and other issues. While he did show maturity with the Miami Heat, supposedly he couldn't buy into the defensive schemes in practice and hence didn't receive much playing time.

We need to show some continuity. Signing different reclamation projects every year won't get us far.

Lin/Kobe/Boozer will receive most of the touches in the starting lineup. Wes's job would be to specialize at defense and slashing/cutting to the basket.

Henry would be best coming off the bench. Him and Young displayed some nice chemistry last season as well. With a reserve unit of Clarkson/Henry/Young/Randle/Davis, Henry, Young, and Randle would be the engines of the bench.
