for $2 million tho. Still a steal?

#timewilltell

You would be complaining if they didn't fork over that cash for an extra pick lol, just be happy man.

Parker was drafted very late in the first round at 28. This guy was projected late first round. I'm not saying he is the next Tony Parker, but I would say he sucks because he was drafted late. Time will tell.

2 million? That's like one of Kobe's paychecks.

He probably bought the pick himself. So he basically owns the kid.

Next time on Backstage Lakers...

46. Los Angeles Lakers: PG Jordan Clarkson, Missouri

TRADE ALERT: The Lakers bought this pick from the Washington Wizards, according to Yahoo Sports. Clarkson had first-round potential and could be an ideal backup guard because he has enough size and defensive aptitude to play either guard position. To get him for cash considerations is a steal. Grade: A

Not the best shooter from what it seems but that can improve of course. Doubt he will be a true pg being that he was mainly a scorer in college. Seems kinda like a shannon brown type of player.

His NBA comparison was actually MCW

NBA Comparison: Michael Carter-Williams

Strengths: Quick guard with good size who has displayed point guard ability … Ran point the majority of the time during his lone season at Missouri ... Has a strong handle and displays solid vision … Has the ability to post up smaller players and still has quickness to create off of the dribble … Athleticism also allows him to take advantage of bigger defenders, can shoot over them off of the bounce or take them to the basket … Can score from all three levels and is able to create his own offense … Gets low on both ends of the court, moves quite fluidly … His lateral quickness and size gives him potential as a defender, could be versatile guarding the perimeter … Excels at pulling up off of the dribble, giving him the potential to develop a floater as well as spot up ability … Got to the foul line fairly often, shooting 83.1% from the stripe, which would lead many to believe he has a lot of potential from midrange … Has displayed some outside shooting ability. He can be streaky in a good way at times … Used to playing big minutes, and is in excellent condition … Really good body control, use it to create space for opportunities and finishes well around the basket… Decent rebounder given his position, aggressive around the ball … Provides versatility at the guard spot, size and length to defend multiple positions ...

DJO was worth $500,000 at 55; so this Clarkson fella must be worth it.

Still, I have no idea who the [expletive] this dude is.

He was projected to go in the mid first round so getting him that late was really nice for us.

I like this pick. Not sure how our back-court will end up looking, but Jordan Clarkson seems like a solid player.

Never heard of him. Is he good?

eh.... 6'6 point guard he has first round potential.  May be a year before you see it but his nba comparison is something like MCW so they got what they wanted basically.  Their first choice would have been Exum, second choice, Smart, third choice MCW, this guy I think was their fourth choice.
