During the MJ days, how many teams had a shot of winning

Bulls and Rockets won all the damn titles

Na has always been about super teams

Its not the NFL, where the garbage teams( Cowboys) get all the hype.

Its 5 on 5 and the essence of team sports. You got a team like Seattle who is mediocre at best offensively winning the title. WTF is that?

Mj didnt go 7 in the Finals...hence less competition.

Biggest problem with the NBA is the East having too many [expletive]ty teams

Chicago

Seattle

Utah

Detroit

Phoenix

Portland

Houston

Atlanta

New York

Indiana

I hate when you say head-scratching stuff like this. Coverage and hype are two different concepts and few hype up the Cowboys to be anything more than what they've been. NFL teams get the analysis that their record and abilities indicate and it doesn't take a gazillion games to figure out who's solid and who's not.

And the NFL is 11 on 11 (not including special teams) so what's your point here??? I'm not going to debate NFL vs NBA with you again...it's really no contest. Oh and you continue to *open mouth insert foot* when it comes to your NFL knowledge: Seattle was tied for the very best record in the NFL at 13-3, 6-2 on the road, a team that is top five in rushing is not "mediocre" offensively and luckily for them, they don't follow your MDA-approach towards winning games.

Mj didnt go 7 in the Finals...hence less competition.

Good grief

The NBA needs competition. Competition = Fans entertained. Their officials need an overhaul, the season needs to be shorter, etc etc etc.

Arguing that the league expansion diluted talent is nonsense.

The league expanded by more than 25%. You seem to be arguing that there was no effect.

Basketball is a sport that rewards consistency.  Football not as much.  This is why normally the most talented or well built teams win the majority of the time. Roster turnover is also not the same.  In the NFL things can swing pretty fast b/c 1 player doesn't directly impact the game every play and games can be won and lost on 1 or 2 plays.  In the NBA you have to play a full 48 to win not blow it all game and then the other team makes a bad mistake and things change.  Basketball also requires 4 wins.  You could put the worst team in the NBA vs the best in a series and every time the best team would win.  In the NFL in a 1 and done scenario Jacksonville will find a way to sneak the Seahawks on a good day.

I would hope all teams have plans. Whether or not they work is up to the front office.
