NFL's rulemakers have in mind a new distance for extra-point kicks.
NFL Media's Judy Batista reports the league's competition committee is -- warning, really bad pun coming -- kicking around the idea.
The ball would be placed at the 25 instead of the 2, taking the "automatic" out of the PAT. "There's no consensus yet," one member of the committee told Battista. "We could experiment in the preseason, but we are not there yet."
The NFL's conversion rate of field goals between 40 and 49 yards last season was 83 percent, reports NFL.com.
