You could use ABP... But support the forums and allow ads!

 

You can do both. Install Adblock Edge and then allow ads on LakerNation. Then all you have to do is right click on the avatar you want to block and select "Adblock Edge: Block Image." It will add that image url to your custom filters, thereby allowing LakerNation ads and blocking any avatar you don't wish to view.

ABE (above) will be your best bet. Members can't block all avatars through their settings anymore, and if I were to do that, I'd have to apply what's called a group mask, which I'd rather avoid doing (unless, of course, there's a really good reason for it).

Blocking individual avatars has only been an option when you block a member, from what I recall...but at that point, you won't see their posts, either, haha.
