Steam is absolutely the best value for your money as far as gaming goes.  No constant change and/or price gouging for a tiny tiny step forward in technology - love it.

If you've got a PC that can run any game then it's fantastic, but I really wish they'd change the store layout, it's just so outdated. I custom built my PC last year and absolutely love it. Haven't bothered purchasing any of the new consoles as a result and probably won't for at least another year or so until they come down in price a bit and make it worthwhile.

Do people even buy hard copies at the store anymore for PC gaming?  All my PC games are on steam.

I can't remember the last time I bought a hard copy game for PC. With the constant sales on Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, Gaming Dragons and more there's really no point to paying a marked up price for a physical copy of a game unless it's something you desperately want.

Last hard pc game i bought was c&c the first decade

And I had already owned all those games. It was just worth it to have 10 games on one disc

Anybody played the Witcher?  Steam got the Witcher 2 for 4 bucks. Thinking of getting it but i never played the first game before so wondered if I will be confused while playing the game.

I tried playing the first one but wasn't a fan of the combat system in it. The Witcher 2 is an amazing game though and you won't be lost with the story, they do a decent job of setting up everything that happened in the first game. I'd highly recommended it, it's a fantastic game. If you're really concerned about the story you can always read the wiki entry about the plot of the first game.

Last hard-copy PC game I bought was Diablo3 collectors edition. Now I just mainly play ranked dota2 and occasionally csgo with a couple of buddies.

Anybody interested in a 66% Chivalry: Medieval Warfare coupon?

I've got one to trade. It will expire soon, though.

so 2K just announced that NBA 2K15 will be the same version on PC as PS4 and XBO. I don't know about anyone else, but that game is going to quickly go up on my most played games list haha.

I don't play much but I have some time off before school starts and I might get into Path of Exile. Anyone recommend something real addicting for me to pass the time?

Something "free to play" or also "pay to play"?

DOTA 2, Team Fortress 2, Heroes & Generals, Warframe, War Thunder, Unturned are neat FTP games.

As far as paid games are concerned, I'd say every Half-Life (+ Black Mesa), Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Rayman, Tomb Raider (2013) for single player.

Borderlands 2 is a neat co-op/multiplayer game but you can go solo too; Far Cry 3 is a good all-around game.

I won't pay to play a game like Skyrim or Black Flag cause I torrent those anyway. I'll check out Borderlands 2 though.
