Dave McMenamin @mcten about 53 minutes ago

Dwight Howard: "Our free throws were terrible." He shot 5-for-16 (31.3 pct). Rest of his team shot 28-for-36 (77.8 pct)

Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen about 54 minutes ago

Dwight on final play: "Guys just kind of messed up on that play. It happens." He was late switching. Gasol screened. Howard closed late.

Different team same Dwight. Guy refuses to say he [expletive]ed it up and only make excuses.

And the refs even rushed the rockets to inbound it so the Lakers couldn't even try and attempt to ask for a replay...

That had to easily be one of the most puzzling things I saw out of what were many to choose from. It's almost automatic these days that they go to instant replay at the end of games on out of bounds plays to be as sure as possible. There wasn't even the slightest hesitation seemingly from the refs in this instance. So strange.

HACK A HOWARD WON IT!!!

I guess that means LakeShow805 clearly isn't happy we won this game then. Some fan.

You guys remember when we complaint about hack a howard last season? HAHAHAHAHAHA

I didn't. It's perfectly fair and within the rules of the game. The onus is on the player to man up & be professional enough to be able to hit uncontested freebies, not get bailed out for his pathetic flaws.

Fido

Hack-a-Howard won the game

You callin' him out?

Beverly also got one well deserved elbow

Yes! Well done Nash.

Glad we won.....but hack-a-howard is still a pathetic strategy.

Glad we won.....but hack-a-howard is still a pathetic strategy.

Its pathetic in that it can work against a guy who is paid millions of dollars a year to play a game and still can't seem to make what is in the top 5 easy shots in the game to make.  Anybody who isn't physically disabled or a mental midget can make free throws, there is no excuse.  You make them, the strategy looks foolish as you are giving away free points that require next to no effort to score, if you can't make them you give the team the option of turning a meaningless foul into an empty possession or near turnover, seems like a sound strategy to me.  The good news is, most professional basketball players can hit their freethrows at a rate that you would never consider this a realistic strategy.  Howard, not so much.

exactly, howard should KNOW hack-a-howard will happen in a game

why he hasn't worked on his free throws idk....but it shows that he's not willing to work on weaknesses

We gonna blow them out  dwight will foul out, Pau will go for 25, Nash will get 10 assists, Xavier will score  30  and Harden will stink up the place and shoot under 40% Wes and Hill will get double doubles and...

...

Who am I kidding chalk this up as a Loss.

 Lol why the hate?

I am usually pretty optimistic about our games but our previous game against the mavs we played like we didn't want to win which is annoying when your an international fan so you have to wait till 1-2:30 am for the game to start  and till about 5 am for it to finish. So I think I have earned the right to be a little pessimistic every now and then.

Anyways I watched the game and enjoyed the win.  So chill.

you should learn to have faith in your team, u never know what happens in basketball

i know championship is way out of reach but regular season games are winnable

ex) clipper game and almost won against the spurs

good thing is atleast u watched it as u say u did after chalking it up as a loss

I don't even mind losses as long as they give 100% effort  it's the gam.es when they play like they don't give a damn that annoy me.

Prepare for embarrassment Dwight.

I made this post in the first page long before the game & all and I must admit, I initially made it sarcastically (for anyone who might not have read it that way), but I'm glad it actually happened.

PREACH! I just don't understand why some people don't get it. You don't have to like it or love it (although you should if you claim to be a Laker fan and know it helped us win the game, which is what's supposed to be most important), but you should at least respect the strategically sound aspect of it.

yo.

Here's something else to consider.

In late game close situations when Harden iso's.

You CAN'T use Dwight to set a screen for him to get him open.

Why?

Because if you foul Dwight during the screen he goes to the free throw line.

Isn't that right?

Same goes for Asik.
