From that same draft what should be Russell's rivals,

Porzingis

Y0: 14.3ppg 7.3rpg 1.3apg 0.7spg 1.9bpg 1.7 topg on 42.1 FG% 33.3 3p% 24.6 USG%

Y1: 19.4ppg 7.4rpg 1.4apg 0.8spg 2.0bpg 1.8topg on 44.9 FG% 40.2 3p% 24.3 USG%

Towns

Y0: 18.3ppg 10.5rpg 2.0apg 0.7spg 1.7bpg 2.2topg on 54.2 FG% 34.1 3p% 24.9 USG%

Y1: 21.8ppg 11.9rpg 3.0apg 0.6spg 1.5bpg 2.7topg on 48.8 FG% 30.5 3p% 27.3 USG%

Booker

Y0: 13.8ppg 2.5rpg 2.6apg 0.6spg 0.3bpg 2.1topg on 42.3 FG% 34.3 3p% 23,0 USG%

Y1: 20.3ppg 2.8rpg 3.1apg 1.0spg 0.2bpg 2.8topg on 42.2 FG% 36.0 3p% 27.8 USG%

Turner

Y0: 10.3ppg 5.5rpg 0.7apg 0.4spg 1.4bpg 1.1topg on 49.8 FG% 21.4 3p% 20.9 USG%

Y1: 15.6ppg 7.6rpg 0.9apg 0.7spg 2.4bpg 1.3topg on 52.7 FG% 42.4 3p% 21.1 USG%

Russell

Y0: 13.2ppg 3.4rpg 3.3apg 1.2spg 0.2bpg 2.5topg on 41.0 FG% 35.1 3p% 24.1 USG%

Y1: 15.1ppg 3.9rpg 4.6apg 1.3spg 0.3bpg 2.7topg on 39.9 FG% 34.2 3p% 27.4 USG%

Russell's production is looking inferior compared to his rivals. And it is mainly due to his lack of effort. Even Jokic surpassed Russell. When it comes to words, the guy claims there is no one better than him, hence his jersey number, he provides one of the cockiest interviews and on-court shenanigans, yet doesn't walk the walk. On a team where Randle improves tremendously from last season, what was Russell's excuse? His hair? How is it possible that the guy who is known to be a shooter is such a bad free throw shooter?

The only player in that list you should be comparing Russell to is Booker, and a player you decided to omit from the list in Emmanuel Mudiay...  There's no point in comparing the production of guards to forwards/centers, it's apples and oranges.  In addition to that, all players develop at a different pace and all of these guys are in different scenarios/environments.

Porzingis, Towns, Turner, and even Booker are all playing alongside proven players, some even Superstars/All-Stars in Carmelo Anthony, Paul George, and Eric Bledsoe.  Russell is playing in a young core with not a single previous All-Star player or anyone of that caliber.

Another very interesting flaw in your post is that you decided to leave out their individual minutes per-game (MPG).  Russell averages the least out of all the them, at just 27.

Russell - 27.3 MPG

Booker - 33.8 MPG

Turner - 29.7 MPG

Porzingis - 34.1 MPG

If you examine each player's stats PER 36, you'd see that D'Angelo isn't far off from anyone.  He's actually very well rounded.

Sorry... you're gonna have to come up with a better argument my friend.

Lol Per36.

Per36 is for players who can play 36 minutes of efficient basketball. That doesn't apply to Russell with that field goal percentage and turnover rate. Hence, he doesn't play and gets his minutes eaten by Lou.

Again, to compare him to the notable guards of his draft class... In terms of  offensive efficiency, he's nearly identical to his rival (Booker).  Give or take 2% in FG% between him and Booker is nothing.  I'm not sure where you are trying to go with your arguments because statistically speaking, there's no signficant gap or difference between him and Booker.  I see why you decided to leave Mudiay out of the equation though.

D'Angelo Russell

FG%: 39.9%          3FG%: 34.2%         TO: 2.7

Devin Booker

FG%: 42.2%          3FG%: 36.0%          TO: 2.8

Emmanuel Mudiay

FG%: 37%             3FG%: 30.5%          TO: 2.6

Mudiay is better than Russell.

I like to dip my feet in toilet water & smell them.
