The most unfortunate thing about Magic is that circumstance has a lot to do with him not winning some of those championships.

Losing James Worthy to injury before the playoffs even began, still making it to the finals but losing.
Pat Riley running the team into the ground and going into the finals with injuries despite being undefeated going in.
Still making it to the finals vs Jordan but missing two of his key players.

Bad luck and circumstances could potentially have taken 2 or 3 rings from Magic in the grand scheme of things and how would he be looked at if he had retired with 8 rings?

It's quite the debate imo.

The "what if" debate is always interesting.

What if Jordan hadn't retired after the first three championships - could they have won those two years as well? How many points would he have had ?

What if Kobe and Shaq had been able to get a long a bit better - or if Shaq would merely get in shape - would they have won an extra championship or two??

Yes it's nice to really wonder about.  How would Jordan be perceived if they'd played the Rockets and lost and he was no longer undefeated in the finals but still had 6.

What if Magic never retired the 2nd time and we saw Kobe, Magic, Shaq on the same team...

Not once in this thread it mentions he avged 50 points a season and scored 100 points a game, His stats are surreal. He's in the my top 5 along with Kobe, KAJ, MJ, and Russell.
