The drama is finally over (somewhat). Johnny Manziel has been officially suspended for one half.

^ How do you feel about the penalty though? Fair? Too much? Double standard? Favoritism?

NCAA dictates its rules by whatever generates most profits. This isn't a race thing, it is a business move.

SEC Blogger Chris Low

It’s pretty obvious by now that the NCAA never really had anything on Johnny Manziel

He might have signed thousands of autographs for a number of brokers in a number of locales. But if he took money or agreed to take money -- and Johnny Football insists he did neither -- then the NCAA couldn’t find an ounce of proof.

Looks like a lot of folks in the media owe him an apology.

it's stupid.

So now college students can't sign autographs because if that person sales it on Ebay it could get that student suspended?

Looks like they weren't exaggerating when they called the NCAA as close to slavery as it gets nowadays.

No they don't.  He brought it all on himself.  The media didn't report anything false.

As for the penalty, it's stupid.  What he is in trouble for is that "Manziel should have known" that the stuff would be sold.  What's funny is that guess who was told they "should have known"? USC with the whole Reggie Bush thing.

The NCAA is definitely corrupt so it doesn't surprise me.

Not really.

There's been zero question about his ability to play the game of football.  He is a talent, no doubt about it.

This morning, people are pissed about his conduct on the field.  His signing autographs taunt along with the money taunt has people questioning his character.  He's making a big joke out of something that he got away with.  Make no mistake, Manziel got away with a serious violation.  He was simply smart enough to make sure there was no money trail.

http://espn.go.com/c...n-unselfishness

After leading the Aggies to a field goal and 31-21 lead on his first series of the second half, Manziel returned to the field again after Texas A&M's defense intercepted a pass for the second straight series. Texas A&M's offense took over at Rice's 34-yard line, and Manziel scrambled for eight yards and a first down on third-and-7. After the play, Manziel motioned to a Rice defender, shook his head, and pretended to sign an autograph. After throwing a 23-yard touchdown to Mike Evans, Manziel walked down the field while rubbing his thumb and forefingers together, a gesture that typically means "money."
