Hey guys I like to weigh in..Lets talk about Better Vs Better Game.

How long can someone sustain being the best. Kobe has shown hes own greatness
for well over 15 years. That's incredible sustainable drive. Wouldn't you all agree!

All the greats have there time and space of greatness and one shall pass thee.
Lebron will be another example that someone will come along and take that throne
of the who's the better game..

One Example Would Be.Led Zeppelin Vs Rolling Stones. Who's Better..neither
and I'm a Zep head.

It comes down to one simple solution..who will live the test of time..
Clearly,...Zep and the Stones have, and there music still lives till this day..Nuff Said...

Kobe and Lebron and all the greats will live the test of time..

So lets leave Who's Better Vs Better alone once and for all... Its just a dead beaten horse..

Prime for Prime?

LeBron isn't out of his yet but if this is LeBron's prime.

Then Kobe.  Easy question.

I'd rather we debate Kobe vs. Lebron at the end of their respective legacies. The sky's the limit for Lebron at the moment...

All of the Greats have there place in history,So IMHO there absolutely shouldn't be no debate about

Better vs Better..Just My opinion...

If you look into the HOF,your not going to look for who's better. That's nonsense..

When you look into the shrine of the Hall Of Fame, you look in there place in history,Theirs no debate who's better.

Though I'm liking some of the better replies here, other than the other threads..Keep um coming.

you cant compare if they're still playing even though i did before.

up to this very moment, kobe.

Potential ? Any player can be better than a retired player, its a matter of probabilities , and james increased his chances. that doesnt mean he will, but rather could.

Kobe overcome more difficult challenges in two different phases in his career, resulted in 5 rings.

LeBron was the 1st option in Cleveland and failed, went to a team where he could bond with two stars to get a ring. Nothing wrong with that imo, but it shows the definition of greatness.

tbh, if you looked up in the past pages you'd find lebron kobe mj threads .. google it, you'll be surprised.

You cant really compare them now. After they both retire, then you can compare IMO.

However if you do wanna compare then your have to remember what prime Kobe would do. People seem to forget what prime Kobe would do. He wasn't a slouch on defense and he was ARGUABLY the greatest offensive player. I may be biased but give me prime Kobe over any player other than Shaq, Michael and Wilt.

Lakers wasted prime Kobe, Miami is taking full advantage of prime Lebron.  Really hard to say who was or who is better.  They are both dominant above all during their prime years.  In the end Lebron's prime will always shine brighter outside of the 81 pt game because he wasn't wasting it with guys like Smush Parker and Kwame Brown.

Time to dead this debate though.  Nobody is going to satisfied b/c its highly subjective.  Different paths and circumstances.  What if Shaq never left? Does Kobe have to avg 35ppg one season?  What if Lebron never leaves Cleveland does he had some point have a crazy string of 40-50 pt games like Kobe?  Who the eff knows.

Lakers wasted prime Kobe

Yeah cause Kobe's prime only lasted that 2 year span after Shaq left :smh:   The first season Kobe was injured all the time and Rudy T couldn't stay healthy.  I wouldn't call that the Lakers wasting it.  The next season they got Phil Jackson, went through 2 first round exits followed by an NBA finals appearance.

Lakers didn't "waste" prime Kobe.  Kobe's 'prime' was 2000-2010   Only 2 years of that were "wasted" if you want to call it that.
2000-2001 Finals
2001-2002 Finals

2002-2003 Western Conference Finals
2003-2004 Finals
2004-2005 Injury ridden rebuild year
2005-2006 Waste(got Phil back but had a bad roster later traded)
2006-2007 Waste(but pieces in place)
2007-2008 Finals
2008-2009 Finals

2009-2010 Finals

yeah....they sure 'wasted' Kobe's prime... :smh:

Caron was a legit 20 pt thread when he left the Lakers.  Him, Kobe and Lamar with a few added pieces could have competed for a ring, but it all worked out post Pau.  Just because I think it was a waste doesnt mean im attacking the Lakers lol.

Hell funny thing is even Kobe thought they were wasting good years with that team.  Funny how my opinions usually line up with the actual players vs what you think.

Kobe's prime began in 2001 to me until 2010

You don't remember the WC playoffs of the Shaq era?

As far as LeBron or Kobe?

Remember Kobe's airballs.

Well Bron playoffs ending in 09, 2010, and 2011 were horrid by Legend's standards. Not his execution in 2010 or 2011, but his energy compared to the season was ridiculous. To some extent we saw weak LeBron against the Bulls, Pacers and Spurs this season.

But no player is perfect.

81 Kobe is one thing.

That next year was more special. To score like that is even harder than LeBron going 35, 10, 8 for 5 straight games. That team that couldn't space the floor with a bunch of weak shooters.

In my opinion they are equal but different.  Kobe is very MJ esque but more advanced skillwise and Lebron is pretty much a new breed type of player..its that simple.

LeBron is just an athletic PF. He is Grant Hill with a durable physique. Magic with leaping ability. The perimeter Shaq.

His intangibles aren't Kobe, Bird, MJ level in regards to killer instinct.

No Slam Dunk contest, so many clutch failures.

Nothing new about LeBron. Stat dominant guys are nothing new. Game is pretty unique because 6'8 strong athletic guys are usually playing that Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Blake Griff role. In think LeBron is the softest that with that bulk in my memory.
