I was nervous because penalty kicks can be quite unfair. But not as nervous as in the World Cup or the Euro championship. After all the Confeds cup is a minor tournament.
I actually think that Spain played a horrible first half, and Italy played fantastic. In the second half they started to click.
I think the match better against Brazil. I really think we can win, but the Brazilians can always kill you individually, I do think our group is stronger. As long as the referee doesn't start intruding I think we will be fine.
It is a minor tournament in comparision certainly, but you can tell, Spain really wants it this time especially.
I agree. Spain is no question the better team and group collectively and have more better overall individual talents, but, since Brazil plays less team-oriented/as a collective unit, that is precisely why they can potentially be more dangerous individually as you suggest.
By the way, since I assume you follow Spanish futbol greatly, could you happen to tell me whatever happened to Carles Puyol & Xabi Alonso?
I think major tournament elimination games should not have shoot outs...
play until the golden goal
It would definitely be a more just result that way no doubt, but personally, I kinda like & prefer the pks. You don't get that many goals during the game anyway so obviously most people get even more excited (or nervous) when pks come up. Plus the drama makes for intense moments that can be appreciated more to a much greater effect.
I'm more afraid of the referee than anything, because they are letting Brazil get away with many things.
As to be expected since they are in their home. Not exactly surprising.
