Just got into this, very good show. Almost done with season 1. Ragnar is a bad boy! So glad he defeated the old king.

The first episode of season 3 was good. I like that its pacing was pretty good even though it was the season opener. Wonder how things are gonna play out between the King and Ragnar there has to be a conflict that will be brewing between those two sooner or later.

According to the legend Ragnar Lodbrok gets caught by King Ella of Northumbria and gets executed by being thrown in a pit of snakes. Later on Ragnar's sons united to avenge their father. They led the Great Heathen Army into England. It's interesting that Ivar the Boneless (the deformed child) was one of the leaders of the raid . Legend says he was carried into battle on a shield by 2 men. Google it, the whole saga is pretty interesting and entertaining :)

All caught up on this. Very good show. Got to love Floki when he gets excited.

Bjorn was an idiot letting his girl go to battle knowing she was carrying their child.

Seems like Ragnar knew about it. Right after Loki killed the priest, Ragnar was burying him.

Looks like the vikings might get their [expletive] pushed in next fight according to previews. I mean they built everything out of dry wood, I wonder what could go wrong with that...

I think that is why Ragnar gave Floki the lead on this attack, so if [expletive] goes wrong he can see that all that god stuff he is spitting is just some ole bull. I really feel like Ragnar is questioning religion as a whole, this is why he wanted to learn so much about the Christians, he likes so see how others in the world have come to conclusions about how and why things are they way they are. As he said just as Odin questioned and had curiosity so does he, and how could he be in the wrong for being curious about the gods as they were curious themselves.

Ragnar at times seems lost to me and quite honestly has kinda lost his path in terms of why he does the things he does. Sure he wants his people to flourish and grow, but his outlook on religion and the way he acts about it seems like he wants more out of life, but is cautious to throw himself at the whims of the gods like Floki has.

I have all the episodes on my DVR and have never watched one.  Should I take the plunge?

Good points PhillyLaker24. And lets not forget, Ragnar originally is a farmer.

Ragnar  & his crew got spanked!
Funny how they made it look like Rollo died falling in the moat.

wow me and my pal were watching it together and for a moment we thought they killed off Rollo, Bjorn and Floki in the same episode. Luckily that didn't happen. It was a taste of reality for the Vikings, but they will come back stronger.

Ragnar is gonna show who is boss next episode it seems.

Letting them all know I am the one that sees the bigger picture and actually thinks about what he does. This is why he basically called Floki a fool to think he gave him leadership of the raid and had no ulterior motive to it. Ragnar seems to be a few steps ahead of these characters with the way he thinks and ponders questions of the unknown. Truly a forward thinker of his time, this is what makes him such a natural born leader.

Paris will fall, it is only a matter of time. It seems like in the last episode Ragnar just wanted a glimpse over the walls to see what was held inside them. He already has a plan and strategy to attack Paris that will work (thanks to Athlestan) People need to get in line and follow Ragnars lead.

I liked how they cut that guy's hand :D

So now Ragnar is baptized. The VIkings might see it as a betrayal to them .. We'll see.

Floki lost his [expletive] when he saw Ragnar getting baptized. Rollo was trippin' too.
