He wasn't amazing. In both of his Washington seasons, he averaged about 21 PPG on 42% shooting. Before that he was a 30ppg on 50%. That's the equivilant of Kobe going 17ppg on 38% shooting. Though Jordan wasn't working from the post as much, and given his age, it was probably expected. It goes both ways.

Um, yeah a forty year old playing in a league of people half his age. Couple that with the fact that every night someone who go extra hard against him because they grew up watching him. I would say the problem with your viewpoint is that a man who had no athletic ability left was still demonstrating his vast knowledge of the game by averaging over 20 ppg as a 40yo. Also, he was playing with bums and still got it done.

And let's not forget if not for his knee injury and surgery who knows how far he'd have taken the Wizards.

"Bryant had come to rage against the idea that Howard's clownish disposition could overtake the locker room, the Lakers' culture, and had warned Howard that he would never, ever let it happen."

Grant hill is one of the players that lost most of their potential due to injuries. Coming out into the league he was suppose to be the next MJ, now I never saw that, but he had a lot of potential. He has now crafted his game into one of a smart savvy player, and to be honest I wouldnt mind him coming off the bench in fact I kinda like the sound of that. Might not be the best of a player anymore but he is a competitor and guys like that off a bench are a boon.

All I want for Christmas is a Laker girl :D

Grant Hill will either join Steve Nash and the Lakers or retire, a source close to the veteran forward told me.

Have to believe he'll be a Laker then. I don't see him getting Kobe's surgery just to retire.

You can use veteran's minimum as much as you'd like.
