And no Bynum doesn't have that fire. Guys who have that kind of drive show it when it comes to playing not only any game, but especially playing the bigger name teams or players. Bynum consistently shrinks on the big stage. Just another reason why going ahead with Bynum a the big guy for the present and future of the Lakers is just a whopping mistake.

I 100% agree hopefully Mitch is working on it right now. It would be disrespectful to Kobe to not build another serious contender in a hurry.Terrible rotations?
because the rotations on the Lakers now are so rock solid?!
The lakers aren't winning anything this year, it's the truth. It simply won't and can't happen with this roster.
Dealing Pau and Bynum for Howard won't make this team any weaker. The attention Howard gets down low will open up everything, including an amazing amount of extra room for Kobe to operate in. You still may not win the cup this year with Howard in tow, but the development will start quickly.
And yes, it will be tough, but the Lakers along with Williams and his agent will find a way to get Williams in tow the next year.

Impossible. Assuming the Lakers would have Kobe and Howard...they could get rid of EVERYONE else, keep those two, and would only have around $11 million to sign D-Will, which is far, far less money than he will get. Kobe and Howard, alone, are going to be making around $47 million. Cap will be around $58 mill.last stand: Salaries can be shed. They Lakers did it to acquire Shaq when they were up against the cap as well.

Possible!
They could trade Bynum for Howard and Pau/picks/fllers for Williams. Then use the TPE on a good PF.
Following this season they could the trade Walton, who is an expiring contract and suddently has value.
Use the mini-mid-level on some bench depth and try to sign a few vets who wants to win.

I was talking about us shedding salary to pick up one (or both) in free agency. There's no chance of that, unless we lose Kobe.Possible!

As for us getting Deron from the Nets for Gasol, that's highly unlikely. Orlando wants both Drew and Gasol, and even if we somehow managed to keep Gasol, we'd still have to deal all of our picks and youth, with Drew, for Howard and Turkoglu. New Jersey would not trade us Williams for Gasol. They would rather just send him to OKC for Westbrook, straight up...or to Boston for Rondo, or to the Knicks for Amare (possibly Melo). Houston would give away Lowry and Scola (or Lowry and Martin). Orlando will offer everything they have outside of Dwight.

Yes it is all about expectations. Pau gets these small forwards who he should dominate but many times doesn't. I think the criticism of fans on Bynum is their impatience. Sure he has had some disappointing games but if laker fans knew he would be averaging 16/14 a night at the age of 24 they would gladly take it. Two steps forward one step back.Bynum gets scrutinized for a Game he barely got to play 17 minutes in.
Gasol played near the entire game and had someone out there on him that couldn't defend him on his best day.
With Bynum we know what we're gonna get from him we know his moves and his ability, and he had Howard on him.
Gasol had a 6 foot 8 guy that couldn't guard him on his worst day ever and doesn't even take it to him nor try to take him to the basket.
Miss or not Bynum tries to take it to the other center every night and it has got him in foul trouble at times( and some can be argued as bad calls)
Gasol on the other hand has people in front of him every night he should and can score on, but he's intent to not test them at all and wants to shoot threes or shoot jump shots.
THIS is why Gasol does not get a pass, the guy he has defending him he should have gotten at LEAST 25 points on but he gives no effort and shows no determination, that on top of the fact he refuses to box out and lets shorter guards take the ball from him.
Gasol has all the talent in the world and yet doesn't let you know about it once against opponents that he should.
How many Power Forwards in the league can actually guard Pau Gasol if he tries to take them to the basket? You could count them on one hand if you can even find that many.
Yet does he play like he knows it? No. Does he even try to find out? No.
THAT is why he gets much more scrutiny than Bynum, and it's well deserved in my opinion.
As far as this game with the Magic, the Lakers did play the night before and the whole team looked tired excluding kobe. I don't know why Brown played the starters in the 4th against Miami so much which was a big mistake. And Orlando didn't play the night before. We have to realize the Magic is playing with the same style of offense the last 5 plus years and haven't had to change much while the lakers have a new coach, new system, no training camp, no decent pointguard, and lack the sharpshooters Orlando has which spread the offense out for Howard.
