First person mode looks awesome:

I'll probably get this again sometime early next year.

Only reason I am probably gonna get this game. First person changes the game a lot for me, makes it like a city version of farcry which is awesome. Glad I didn't play the game at all on last gen, I will be able to enjoy the game from scratch in FPS mode.

For me it is a Yes and a No on FP view.  When I play GTA for some reason I enjoyed seeing what my character looks like and how they dress. In GTA 5 we have three characters and we get to pick out clothing for them to wear. Sometimes it looks stupid on them and it makes the game more fun to play. With a FP view that element is irrelevant.  But at the same time the FP view look pretty sick. I really enjoyed GTAV and don't mind playing the story mode again. I might use the FP view but I might go back to the third person sooner or later.

Will stick to 3rd person for the most part, especially the driving.

Will switch to first person in intense shoot outs as it's easier to acquire targets and ADS.

Can't wait till next Tuesday. Release Day Delivery ftw.

1.4 GB update file downloads when you first fire it up, then after that the game has to install, and that's like another 15 or 20 min process.

Just wanna [expletive]ing play already.

Played for about 2 hrs or so, with the last hour being spent just driving/walking around as Franklin exploring Los Santos.

Graphics look great. The 30 frames per second didn't bother me like I thought it would. 1080p comes through.

Gameplay feels tight. Way better than GTA 4(which I had played a lot of last week). The driving is awesome. Music is great as well.

Messed around with first person, didn't use it all that often. Kinda tough to get used to. Idk why when you're in first person mode and have a gun you don't get an aim down sights animation. The gun like awkwardly points upward and you only get that tiny white center cross hair reticle thing to help you aim.

Maybe not all guns are like this, but in the 1st part of the game(first heist) it's all I got when shooting at the cops. I'd be good with iron sights, just as long as I can aim down sights.

Will get back to the single player story tomorrow.

Edit: just remembered that in that FP trailer Rockstar released last week, you were able to ads and use a scope and the iron sights on guns, guess it just depends on the actual weapon.

Forgot to add just how much Los Santos reminds me of the LA from Midnight Club on last gen.

Bought and upgraded an SMG last night, and bought a sight for it and finally figured out the ADS mode. You press R3(PS4) while in first person. Much easier to aim.

Story wise i'm about to do my 1st heist, which will "unlock" the 3rd and final character.

Will go in loud. Tactical has never been my thing.

Oh and lol @ this article i found while googling what todays GTA update was all about:

http://www.forbes.co...-than-xbox-one/

more foliage in the PS4 version than the xbox one version. Just adding more fuel to the fanboy fire haha.

There is no ADS?
Why make it first person and not include ADS!!!

That kinda the whole point!

Post above yours I explained how I finally figured it out lol.

Press R3 on PS4 while in first person and aiming, and i'm pretty sure it's the same for xbox one(pressing right thumb stick).

The ADS'ing isn't as smooth as we're all probably used to though with games like Battlefield or Call Of Duty. Feels kinda clunky. Might have to mess with the sensitivity options, you can use different sensitivities for first and third person.

So I ended up buying it. I didn't get to play much yet but man I forgot how awesome of a game it is. The graphics are greatly improved and first person is kind of a neat twist. It's a little difficult to drive in first person though which I tend to find in most games anyways.

Just bought it, haven't you?

I picked it up about a month ago (preorder). I started playing and it looks awesome on PC. Definitely worth the price.

Everything's optimized nicely and it runs so smoothly.

I bought it as a pre-order too, just been waiting delay after delay.
Although my laptop is a bit old now, so I can only play on low settings, enjoying it nonetheless.

Really want to play this on maxed out ultra settings on an expensive gaming PC.

Frames per second can go pretty [expletive]ing high depending on the capability of your PC.

Puts the PS4 version to shame. 1080p is great but just wish we could've at least gotten 60 FPS.

Just everything i've been reading about it sounds amazing. There's huge draw distances, FOV can be changed, so much more detail and diversity in the crowds and traffic, you can even go 4K.

One of those games that make me want to get a $4,000 gaming PC lol

I kind of regret buying it on PS4 but I still enjoy the console version

Was thinking of getting it on the PS4 tomorrow. What are the main, noticeable differences between the PS3 and PS4 versions?

Obviously the graphics.  When it came out on the last gen console, it look pretty sick already. But if you compare the two graphics of the current gen and last gen there is a pretty good difference. Just look at the details on the trees and sands and you will know. A lot more people walking around los santos and look so much better when you go under water now compared to last gen.  If you are a graphic whore then you can obviously tell the difference. If you are not than it might look the same to you.
