I'm having so much trouble getting into this show. I can't sit still and finish a full episode, or even half. Is the beginning just boring?

Disagree completely.

Well the first half, second half of season 1 is definitely good

In order for me

4, 2, 5, 7, 1, 6, 3

Many discount the start of a shows first season because it is slower and not as fast paced or action packed as other seasons. However, it is the most vital season in a show since it sets the whole series up for either success or failure. Season 1 of sons did an amazing job of putting the framework for a stellar show and balanced the introduction of plot and characters with action. After season 1 sons looked like a very promising show that would turn out many quality seasons.(Sadly I would say I disliked more seasons then I enjoyed) I would have to say that because of this it was a very successful and entertaining season.

Exactly why the finale was perfect. The The things jax says to Tara all come into play in the finale

Tara was put into his life to get him out of samcro. Well Tara was killed so there was no escape

Jax said if he stayed with samcro he'd end up dead or in jail. Well...

Jax said his boys won't be a part of this life. He gets them out

Tara says Gemma makes it impossible to escape. Jax says his dad should have ran her over, he of course kills her

But Thomas stayed with a ring. There's a reason they showed him playing with it at the end. The shows done but IMO, the boys aren't totally free of SAMCRO

The show probably couldn't have ended any other way. Any other way would have been wrong. It was perfect. The boys could not follow in jacksons footsteps. The cycle had to end.

The character arc of Jackson teller was perfect. There was never a betrayal of character. Everything he did and ended up doing was within his character. Jax was never intentionally bad and that's why he knew how it had to end. He always had a conscience and his life was over the minute he killed Gemma, he knew that and that's why he in a lot of ways sacrificed himself for peace on the streets and a better life for his boys, in order to fulfill Tara's dream for the boys

I did like the ending and actually had the final song in my head for a couple of days, but i do think they could have ended it a bit differently. Didn't see the point in shooting Unser and i think Gemma got off to easy. She should have lived in exile and never be allowed to see her grandkids. In terms of Jax, i didn't think committing suicide was necessary either. He could have sent the kids away with Wendy or something.

Another point i'd like to criticize: Damn they killed a lot of people. I know they're a criminal organisation, but it was way over the top and made the whole show a little bit too unrealistic. To me, at least.

And in all, it's one of my favorite shows, though.

^Agree on all points. But overall, SOA & BB are 1A and 1B for me.

Whether Jax going out like that was necessary or not is debatable, but I feel it made for a meaningful ending. Knowing throughout the show we witnessed the rise and fall of Jax. He died for what he believed in.

In season 4, before Opie finds out about Piney and Clay, he tells Jax that "trying to be anything else would be a lie." In a sense, he had to live and lead the club, or die fighting for and protecting the club. I don't think it would've been right to have him leave with the boys and go anywhere or keep them around and eventually have them dragged into it. The club is apart of him at this point, and he can't live without it. So sacrificing himself for the club and boys seemed right to him.

One thing I'm dissapointed with is that we didn't get more insight on Jax's memoir/diary.

I actually think we did. The insight was him burning the diary and all his memoirs. John teller left jax the memoirs to help him fix the club.

Jax burned his memoirs and johns to get his sons out of the club and a new life

By the time John figured out living a regular life and the club life was impossible he died and Gemma and clay took over

Jax essentially fixed all his fathers mistakes in trying to achieve the same goal. Essentially finished what his father started
