get a PS3 PHAT!! because the buttons are touch, not like the slim where you actually have to PUSH 'em.

What?

the buttons where you turn it on/ reject disks. on PS3 PHAT, they are touch sensitive or w/e. you just like swipe your finger on it and it'll reset the ps3 / eject the disk. while on SLIM they are actual buttons, you have to PRESS on them to reset / eject. thats just what i like. it is up to you.

They don't even sell the 60 gb anymore.

It don't matter , once you get the Playstation 3 you are set my man.

Peeps like to say it is a downgrade if you get the 40gb because it doesn't allow you to play old PS2 or PS1 games.
No Playback Capability.

The only game I play from the old school is Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.
I ended up downloading it onto my hard drive anyways.

I got the 40 GB PS3 because it was cheaper at the time and I ended up swapping hard drives in it .

Oh Yeah you can switch your hard drive to any size you want.
An It doesn't break your warranty either.
When you get your PS3 handbook it will tell you how to swap your Hard drive.

I went from a 40 gb to a 160 gb.

You are automatically winnin' with the PS3.

Avoid this hot mess

Yeh, looks like BestBuy only sells the 120GB and the 250GB.

From what I've been reading, the 120 GB is backwards compatible with PS1 games but not PS2 games.

Well, actually...neither the 250 or 120 GB system is backwards compatible with PS2 games.

is a bestbuy rep telling you that? i think what he is saying is... you can download the GAMES from the PSN store and play the PS1 games. (all ps3's can do this), but i believe it CANNOT play the actual PS1/PS2 disks. i may be wrong on this.

No. I've been researching online.

They can play the PS1 games...not the PS2 games. That's the 120 and 250 GB versions.

Looks like ALL PS3s can play PS1 games. Only the 20, 60, and 80 GB PS3s are backwards compatible with PS2 games.

For only 50 bucks more, its a no-brainer to get the 250GB model.

I'm thinking about it but there's no such thing as "only" $50.
