The Arizona Cardinals have traded receiver Anquan Boldin to the Baltimore Ravens for third and fourth round draft picks, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Boldin, who will be entering the final year of his contract, had 84 receptions for 1,024 yards and four touchdowns in 2009.

The Cardinals have had a busy off season with the retirement of Kurt Warner and the release of Antrel Rolle. Inside linebacker Karlos Dansby may also leave the team after becoming an unrestricted free agent.

The Ravens bolstered their receiving corps with the signing of Donte' Stallworth in February to a one-year contract.

Wowwwwwww. Is Arizona stupid??? Boldin is a pro bowl WR and all you get for him are 3rd and 4th round picks? Someone just got robbed.

He is a good weapon for Flacco.

Yeah but Arizona has no use for him, so they took whatever they could get.

Wha????

Arizona has no use for 84 rec, 1024 yds, 4 TDs?

or the year before...89 rec, 1038 yds, 11 TDs?

Pau Gasol is GONE

Boldin was injured for the majority of last season, yet Arizona had an explosive offense. There is a reason why the Cardinals didnt have a big pricetage on him this offseason.

All the more reason they should have kept him. The fact he can put up those numbers while injured. He played in 15 games in the regular season.

Why would the Cards want to keep someone who is injury prone? Also Boldin is 30 years old, why would you let a young guy like Doucet rot on the bench. The Cardinals are more than happy to get draft picks which they can use to rebuild with some young peices. Boldin has been a distraction the last couple seasons, he has openly complained up the lack of looks he gets his way, so this trade is a win-win for both teams.

Plenty of players in the league are "injury prone"; it's the NFL...not golf. Look what this dude has done in seven seasons in the desert: 5 seasons of over 1000+ yds, 586 rec, and 44 TDs. He missed two games in '05, STILL grabbed 102 passes for over 1400 yds. He missed 4 in '08 and STILL ended up with 89 rec, over 1000 yds, and 11 TDs. You don't let that go...especially for only a meager 3rd and 4th round draft picks. Arizona is proving why they really are a joke of a franchise. Doucet??? lol

Breaston has supplanted himself as a solid #2 Wr, Boldin was disgruntled, this trade was necessary to keep away all distractions.

Breaston doesn't come close to Anquan. Cardinals made this move because of age and injury issues; they should have focused on results on the field instead.

Take a look at his stats. He's not a possession Wr like Boldin but he can vertically stretch the field.

I know his stats and they're not comparable to Boldin's stats.

He's had a couple of solid years but Boldin has had a lot of very solid years.

So what are you saying? Breaston is very much capable of being a solid #2 opposite of Fitz (who is arguable the best Wr in football and warrants as many double teams as any Wr). The Cards will be fine without Boldin, a major problem that they need to fix is QB. Leinart better pan out, or else it doesnt matter who the Cards have.

I'm saying there's no one on that roster that can replace Boldin. And if you were going to give him up...you should have gotten a lot more for him.

Now teams can double Fitz all they like without having to worry about Boldin on the other side of the field.

Fitz is a top 3...top 5 WR and he will be getting all the attention. You've lost Kurt to retirement, you've lost Boldin, you've lost Dansby...who else did Arizona lose?
