Who do you guys believe is the most underrated player of the decade?

Basically the player that's always under the radar and always seemingly forgotten among talks about great players in the league. Now, this player should be a player that is a starter and probably at least a top-30 player right now (decade is a long time). So this isn't the place for roleplayers or bench players (unless they were previously stars) but they have to be somewhat decent now (unless they've retired). Also try to refrain from picking players that have played less than 5 seasons. I know they are probably underrated but if it's underrated player of the decade, they should have played at least half of the decade. You can have honorable mentions as well just please select only one player for underrated player of the decade. Also, explain why you think that this player is your choice.

I'm also going to refrain from posting my choice first so people will not be swayed by the OP's choice. However, I will post who I believe is the most underrated player of the decade, later on.

Chauncey Billups. 7 straight conference Finals... and he doesn't get the respect he deserves.

I agree that Chauncey has been underrated the previous few seasons but I think within the past season or so, most people have thought pretty high of him (responsible for Nuggets' turnaround, also Detroit's collapse coincidentally).

Tony Parker is also a good choice (won Finals MVP in 2007) although some might dispute that Duncan should have deserved Finals MVP that year.

Any more thoughts?

Caron Butler too. though he's always injured, he's definitely one of the game's most versatile players, yet so underrated

Grant Hill

Well to be fair, he hasn't really done much this decade except recently. He's only played 426 games since the 1999-00 season out of a possible 820 games (and he even missed an entire season because of his injury). He did have his comeback year in 04-05 and made the All-Star Game but other than that he hasn't really been too significant.

Chauncey is damn overrated these days, has been for a few years, so I don't think it's him.

Tony Parker is a great choice, people still don't give him much credit, people forget that he won a Finals MVP and he's up there in points in the paint just about every year (don't know how to check but I think he was 1st once), people forget that he learned how to shoot (was weak his first couple years, then got a jumper and always shoots 50% from the PG spot now) and that his scoring and assists have both even gone up recently. Dude is good.

The reason Antawn Jamison was forgotten for a while because the Wizards sucked the past season and they had no relevance to the rest of the league. Without Gilbert Arenas in the 2007 playoffs, Jamison was putting up 32 PPG and 9.8 RPG. He and Caron Butler were All-Stars in 07-08 when they led the Wizards to the playoffs without Arenas.

Yeah, it is a shame that he has yet to make the All Star team. It is way overdue. But as far as this decade goes, I would say Tony Parker and Antawn Jamison.

I'll put D-Will and Tayshaun Prince, he's been a great defender his whole career and put up decent numbers on good Piston playoff teams yet no all-stars.

I feel that Billups isnt underated, he is just boring. I feel that Parker is underrated. Prince as well, most SFs are though. Parker is the best choice
Again - this team, as currently constructed won't make it out of the second round of the playoffs, let alone the West or win the Finals.---fido on 2011 Lakers

The only problem with Deron Williams is that he doesn't fit my criteria. He's only played four seasons and I specifically said a player has to play at least half of the decade.
