Just finished Akame ga Kill after hearing really good things about it. Thought it was pretty damn good, hated seeing some of the characters go. I will never understand why for me watching a cool anime character die on screen is harder than watching a human actor die.  Probably because I accept humans are mortal while on the other hand most anime characters are too bad ass to die, but when one finally does it is such a shock lol

I am currently finishing up the web series RWBY. I watched the first season when it first came out just because back then I watched most of rooster teeths stuff since their humor is along mine. However, it got a little bit much to stay up on all their content on different things. Either way wanted to watch the second season of RWBY while the first one was still somewhat fresh in my head.

I am thinking about starting fate but I have heard there are like three different ones. Which one should I start at and does it matter? Do they build off each other ?

The most recent one is Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, which is a remake of the 2006 anime adaption (DO NOT WATCH THAT ONE, lol). The other one is Fate/Zero, which is the prequel to Fate/Stay Night (of the recent remake).

Personally, I'd finish up Fate/Stay Night first and then watch Fate/Zero because F/Z is just great.

I watched fate stay night first and liked it.

Right now I am on a path to re-watch some of my old favorites. Finishing up Gash Bell and then after wards gonna rewatch Yu-Yu Hakusho. Both of them classics that I watched as a kid.

^ Best character development I've seen in anime in a while. Shame people are put off by its art-style.

2nd season as in ep 24/26? It was definitely flashy, but just the right amount (unlike prince of tennis). I generally like sports anime (or in a broader sense, competition anime) and I usually like most if not all of them.<br />Outside of that, I recommend Shirobako if you like to know how anime is made. Very educational. For Shonen stuff, Nanatsu no Taizai (seven deadly sin) so far is very good. For drama, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (your lie in april) is also very good.

Im on episode 51 (almost all caught up). The site where i'm streaming it breaks it up into 3 seasons 25 episodes each. Season 3 is still airing.

Bump.

lots-of-popular-anime-characters1.png

Enjoying

  • Higurashi (When They Cry), Mirai Nikki (Future Diary), Elfen Lied, and Madoka Magica for the psychological mind twist and drama.
  • Spice & Wolf, Mushishi, and Ano Hi Mita for being extremely unique and chill shows to watch. For example, the first blends together economics, romance, traveling, and adventure.
  • Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note for good action/adventure and mystery (respectively).
  • Psycho-Pass and Ghost in the Shell for your cyberpunk.
  • For sports -- Kuroko no Basket for basketball, Haikyuu for volleyball, and Major for baseball.

I'm currently watching Steins;Gate. I also heard that Attack on Titan is getting a second season.

Ajin is really good; probably the best show handling CGI so far. Much more so than the new Berserk.

Oh, I will probably have to check that out.

I agree. Myself, I wasn't a huge fan of the new Beserk. Has anyone seen Monster? I was thinking about starting that up or Neon Genesis Evangelion.

What are your favorites from each color category?

Does anybody know of a good source for anime news and whatnot? Like a FB page or something, similar to comicbookdotcom but purely for anime?

Your Name is officially out for western audiences and is Shinkai's best work yet.

Getting high praises ever since being released in U.S. theaters. The movie itself is really good, let alone being an anime one.

Really a big step in anime.
