This game tonight swayed back and forth for the Lakers about as much as the trees outside on a windy night in Los Angeles. The Lakers should have blown out this team easily at home, but they continue to struggle against the young teams in the NBA.
The Thunder are very athletic and get their hands on many boards and loose balls. The Thunder even had a second half lead, which they surrendered to the Lakers who built up a late fourth quarter lead.
However as the final two minutes came around, the game got real close as the Thunder offense came alive. In the end, the Lakers got the last laugh (despite a scare from Kobe’s injuries) as they held on for a 3 point victory.
The Lakers only shot 44% from outrebounded Oklahoma City. Every Laker starter hit double figures and Lamar hit it as well, which has been pretty rare for the Lakers this season.
This was a longer game than normal with 38 free throw attempts for the Lakers tonight.
Now, the bests of the day…
Top 3 Laker Performers -
1) Kobe for the fifth straight game is number one. 40 points on 14 of 26 shots.
2) Pau had 15 points, 11 boards, and 6 blocks. He continues his Bill Russell play.
3) Artest had 12 points, 7 boards, 5 assists, a nice steal and hit 2 threes.
Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Sasha did nothing again. 5 minutes, no points and a turnover.
Play of the Night: Nothing too exciting, maybe Brown’s steal and fast break.
What to Look for Next Game: Christmas Day is around the corner with LeBron and Shaq coming into town.
