TLN’s Postgame Report: Lakers vs. Mavericks

The Lakers easily had their best performance of the season tonight as they routed the Mavericks at home. This one was a blowout from the beginning.

It was the cleanest Laker effort on both ends of the court as not only did every shot seemingly go in, but they also seemed like they all hit nothing but net.

The Lakers shot over 63% from the field which is unheard of in the NBA for an entire 48 minutes, especially considering they weren’t easy shots with 24 of them being threes on their way to a season high 131 points.

Normally when you score 131 points, your fans don’t get tacos, but the Lakers defense tonight was great as they held on for a 35 point victory. 33 assists to only 12 turnovers for the Lake show.

The only downside tonight was Gasol’s early injury, but the Lakers bench really came to play tonight.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Farmar had a career high with 24 points tonight while making some spectacular plays.

2) Lamar had 15, 15, and 6 tonight in one of his better games of the season. 15 boards from your starting SF isn’t bad!

3) Bynum shot 8 of 8 on his way to 19 points. Offensively he was aggressive which was needed as Gasol went down early.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Nobody… even Sasha did good tonight!

Play of the Night: Mbenga’s block on Marion in the first half.

What to Look for Next Game: The Rockets come to back to Los Angeles Tuesday night with Trevor Ariza.
