TLN’s Postgame Report: Lakers vs. Knicks

90041010KD007_NEW_YORK_KNICThe Lakers took care of business again at home. The Knicks never had a chance against the bigger and stronger Laker team.

The Lakers really went at them in the paint, pounding the ball into Bynum. However, they won this game with defense. They held the Knicks to under 40% from the field and 11 of 33 from three-point land.

They also dominated the glass in this fast paced game. They had 24 more rebounds tonight which is simply unheard of. If the Lakers didn’t have 25 turnovers tonight, they would have easily won by 40.

Every Laker starter hit double figures.

One of the other downsides from the turnovers was the bench play tonight. They just couldn’t put away the game and Kobe and Bynum had to return to the game late in the fourth to nail it.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Kobe had 34 points on 14 of 20 shooting. One of his best shooting nights of the year.

2) Pau only had 11 points, but he had 16 boards and 2 blocks.

3) Fisher played very solid with 12 points, 6 boards and 4 assists.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Farmar shot 1 of 7 and played some terrible defense.

Play of the Night: Pau’s dunk in the paint from Artest.

What to look for next game: Lakers have some time off before Sundays battle at Golden State.
