TLN’s Postgame Report: Lakers vs. Hornets

Hornets Lakers BasketballThe Lakers won their fifth straight easily Sunday night at Staples Center. This one was a blowout from the beginning as New Orleans was never in the game at all.

Every Laker pitched in tonight to provide a balanced box score. The Lakers had 27 assists to only 12 turnovers and really just won this game with defense. The Hornets couldn’t get anything going tonight shooting only 36% and even worse from behind the arc.

The Lakers did a great job rotating and D.J. took care of the paint with his four blocks. With tonights rout of New Orleans, the bench got plenty of time to show off and they did. Even Luke did well! Sasha hit a few from downtown too!

It’s great when it isn’t just Kobe, Lamar, and Artest taking care of everything. Lamar and Artest both shot terribly, but they had boards and assists to make up for it.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Kobe continued his hot shooting. 28 points in 33 minutes. He did have quite a few turnovers though…

2) D.J. looked great again tonight. A double double with 4 blocks!

3) Shannon Brown had 15 points off the bench and a nice breakaway dunk too!

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Powell took some bad shots and only made one of six.

Play of the Night: Brown’s breakaway dunk.

What to Look for Next Game: A high scoring game as Nash comes to Los Angeles Thursday night.
