TLN’s Postgame Report: Lakers vs. Hornets

Hornets Lakers BasketballDon’t let this box score fool you — this one was another Laker blowout. A similar story Tuesday night as the Lakers blew out another poor team while the bench played a poor fourth to make the box score look a little closer.

The Lakers scored 110 points tonight and the fans got tacos, despite the Hornets trying to spoil the fun in the end.

That team really misses Chris Paul. They can’t score without him… they can’t defend without him. They were almost as bad as the Nets the other night.

The Lakers shot the ball well over 50% from the field, and moved the ball well in the process. It was a much smarter game from the Lakers… good shots and good passes. Five different Lakers hit double figures and Bynum the leader only had 21. It was a nice balance of offense tonight.

The Lakers did struggle, however, from behind the arc with 6 of 22 going in, but they made up for it by pounding the ball in the paint.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Bynum had 21 points and 9 boards. He continues to dominate the paint.

2) Kobe had another effective game with 18 points, 4 assists, 2 steals, and no turnovers.

3) Artest shot 6 of 8 on his way to 16 points.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): The Lakers bench for blowing another lead. They got outscored by 10 in the fourth.

Play of the Night: Nothing was spectacular tonight.

What to Look for Next Game: Miami comes into town Friday night — Wade vs Kobe again.
