The Lakers improved to 7 and 2 on the road for the season with an impressive win in Detroit Sunday afternoon. The game got kind of close at the end, but the Lakers really controlled this one from the start.
Great ball movement and great defense helped give the Lakers the 93-81 victory today.
Both teams only shot 41% from the field, but it was the Lakers 15 steals as a team that made the difference.
The Lakers got many second chance points as well. Bynum, Pau, and Lamar got their hands on many offensive boards leading to easy baskets.
Many Lakers contributed tonight and the Lakers didn’t have to rely on any single player to win this game. Gasol didn’t even score until the Lakers had already blown this game open. Four of the five Lakers hit double figures as they were very unselfish today.
Now, the bests of the day…
Top 3 Laker Performers -
1) Kobe had another efficient game. 28 points and 5 steals for the Black Mamba.
2) Artest played amazing defense all night with his 6 steals.
3) Bynum had 16 and 7 tonight on 7 of 8 shooting, mostly dunks… but it was great to see him involved again.
Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Shannon Brown played good defense, but offensively he made several poor decisions and missed 8 of his 9 attempts.
Play of the Night: Bynum’s tip-dunk off Brown’s missed layup.
What to Look for Next Game: Lakers come back home Tuesday night to face the Thunder. Should be a fast paced game.
