Lakers Warriors BasketballAfter a long summer, the night finally arrived — Ron Artest in a Lakers uniform. In his first game as a Laker, the Lakers took care of business defeating the Warriors in a meaningless game at the Honda Center.

I’m going to keep it short since it was the pre-season and I missed most of the game with the Dodgers on at the exact same time… terrible scheduling!

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers

1) Bynum looked just as he did last year in the beginning. 24 points on 13 shots with 5 boards.

2) Kobe was Kobe with his 22 points, 9 boards and 3 steals.

3) Many other Lakers played well, but Ron Ron played great for a first game. 12 points, 9 boards, 7 assists and 2 steals!

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Doesn’t really matter since it is the first game of the pre-season.

  • http://www.jjceleb.com Megan Fox JJC

    Wow…

    1. You picked to watch Dodgers over Lakers.
    2. Bynum did not play like that start of last season. He played like that sometime before his injury last season.

    • desecrator93

Come on man, it was a postseason game vs a preseason game. No brainer if you ask me. Plus the Dodgers won haha.

  • touchingmyself

Great preseason game! What a way to wet our appetite for things to come! The swarming D and the full court press the Lakers put on is really getting me excited about how fierce this team can possibly be! Everyone played pretty well, even Sasha!

See, giving him credit when it’s due! That is what a “true fan” does ___23! Anyway, it’s only preseason, so until he shows me that he’s back to his “practice shooting form”, he still sucks!

    Go Lakers!!!!!!!!

    • PTG23

MAN, GET OFF MY NUTS HOMEBOY. I AINT POSTED NOTHIN’ ON THIS SITE FOR 4 DAYS AND YOU STILL TALKIN’ SHIT. IT AINT THAT FUCKIN’ SERIOUS.

      • touching_myself

All that means is that it’s been bullsh!t free for the last 4 days then huh? Ha! And ain’t no one on your nuts except Sasha and you on his! Relax dude, I’m just showin you that I’m tryin to give homeboy some credit when he’s doin well! But until he gives consistent performance, he still sucks!

        • PTG23

AH THATS A BIG NEGATIVE. I NEVER MENTIONED SASHA VUJACIC IN THIS FOURM. I HAVE NO CLUE WHY YOU ARE STILL STUCK ON THAT ONE. ALL I TOLD YOU TO DO WAS GET OFF OF MINE. I AINT SAID NOTHIN TO YOU IN 4 DAYS NOR DID I INTEND TO UNTIL YOU HAD TO MENTION MY NAME-“See, giving him credit when it’s due! That is what a “true fan” does ___23! Anyway, it’s only preseason, so until he shows me that he’s back to his “practice shooting form”, he still sucks! I’M RELAXED RIGHT NOW. YOU MGHT WANT TO DO THE SAME. LIKE I SAID BEFORE; A REAL FAN DONT GIVE A PLAYER CREDIT FOR A GOOD GAME AND THEN TURN AROUND AND CRITICIZE THEM WHEN THEY STRUGGLE.

“But until he gives consistent performance, he still sucks!”- A MAJOR COMPONENT TO CONSITENCY IS STAYING HEATHY; SOMETHING ANDREW BYNUM HASN’T BEEN IN ALMOST 2 SEASONS. HE WAS PRETTY DAMN CONSISTENT BEFORE THE INJURIES. SO, IF HE’S INJURED HE WONT BE CONSISTENT. HOW THE HELL THAT THAT MEAN “he sucks!”? IT DOESNT, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT A TOTALLY DIFFERENT ANDREW BYNUM IS INJURIES DID PLAGUE HIM.

NOW, I’LL END IT ON THIS NOTE; YOU AINT GOTTA PROVE NOTHIN’ TO ME. IF YOU CAN GIVE HIM CREDIT FOR A GOOD GAME, GOOD FOR YOU. YOU DONT HAVE TO THINK OF ME AND USE MY NAME TO JUSTIFY A POINT. I REALLY DONT HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO SAY TO YOU. FEEL FREE TO RESPOND BACK BUT I WONT BE DOIN’ THE SAME.

          • PTG23

            *DID NOT PLAGUE

          • touchingmyself

You mentioning Sasha has no bearings to me having a discussion with you what so ever. I’m simply letting you know that I wanted to give him props for his 3-4 shooting. And being negative, you brought that on by talking about your nut and so, don’t be so thin skinned! What, you can dish, but can’t take… c’mon now!

You must be related to homeboy, cause you seem to have all the excuses in the world for his failure to perform! And yup, he is susceptible to being criticized, that’s what happens when he’s playing for our World Champion Los Angeles Lakers!

You’re right as far as being healthy and/or being injured can affect one’s consistency. But we’re not talking about Bynum. He had a pass as far as I’m concerned because of his knee, but Sasha doesn’t because he was NOT injured last season! So, there’s nothing PLAGUING him, besides his SUCKNESS!

And don’t think so highly of yourself that you think that “I would have to justify a point by mentioning your name”… you are way too funny! Think that everything revolves around you or something!

And I’m glad that you won’t be responding back to me because when I chat with you it’s worse than chatting to me 3 year old. At least he’s got common sense and understands points made from 1 stays with 1 and doesn’t try to bring 2 or 3 into a discussion where it doesn’t pertain! Example: Bynum’s injury and his consistency. I never mentioned Bynum and his play because of his injuries, the man I was talking about was Sasha. But then you couldn’t stay on point so you brought point 2 into a point 1 discussion.

Maybe it’s your smokescreen to cover your tracks, whatever… it’s still lame! So again, I had to expose your inability to be logical!

  • Smush Walton

STD goes to Adam Morrison. They raved that Phil said he was the best shooter in practice so far. I had hoped to see something from him after his 20 points per game showing in the summer league, but unfortunately he did nothing on the floor. Runner up would be Smush Walton. Hopefully Ron Ron plays the whole game during the season so Smush Walton remains on the bench where he belongs.

    • http://LakersNation Marwan

Man shut the hell up you bandwagon fan. If you talk like that then you are not a true Lakers fan. You want them to improve if you are rather than talk smack about them. If you think you that good, then go take Walton’s place and lets see you go guard Lebron, Paul Pierce or Carmelo Anthony. If not, then shut up and let the players do what they do, and us fans will do what we do, and this is cheer them on, nothing more and nothing less.

      • Smush Walton

OK – I guess you are right Marwan…
Adam Morrison turned in a fabulous performance clearly demonstrating why the coaches had been raving about him as the best shooter during the summer so far. Moreover, Luke Walton was just short of spectacular showcasing his All Star talents and skills.

There, is that better Lame Brain???

  • l.alakeshow

nice gm. boy! did we look good…bynum was looking great and artest with almost a triple double I cant wait for the real season to start this is gonna be fun

  • l.alakeshow

smush walton…how could u bash on morrison’s shooting he didnt even shoot i dont see how he dissapointed u…

    • Smush Walton

He didn’t shoot? Huh? Is that productive?
Even Marwan can go out there, run around, not shoot and do nothing! Good Grief!

      • http://LakersNation Marwan

As much as I’d hate to agree with you, I do to an extent.

Even I can run around and not shoot. Hahaha, good one credit yourself for that one, it was good (no sarcasm)

Ok, he didnt shoot, wow big deal, he played better than the 4 the Lakers signed to the training camp roster (Gaffney, Gelaballe etc..) Give this guy time, its gonna be his first full season with the Lakers and he will improve.

By the way, his only shot in the game was an off balance shot trying to beat the buzzer.

      • l.alakeshow

im just saying…enjoy the fken win..we played great and stop looking for the negatives just enjoy the positives which were all of them….

  • http://www.consumergrantreport.com/ l.alakeshow

smush walton…how could u bash on morrison’s shooting he didnt even shoot i dont see how he dissapointed u…
Sorry… forgot to say great post – can’t wait to read your next one!

  • http://LakersNation Marwan

Damn, man I loved every part of this game.
Sasha, he gave me goosebumps, (no homo) seeing his new haircut, it looks better, and his shots, I was screaming everytime he shot, I was so happy to see them go in, he is fulfilling his promises.
Bynum was a big factor for us in this game. Unstoppable, he is trying to prove to people that he is All Star material and if he keeps this up, he will get it.
    Kobe was just Kobe.
Pau was Pau, all his shots were falling in.
DFish is no longer in his slump.
Lamar, simply being the candy man, all over the place, and he was a hard cover for the warriors.
Shannon Brown, showing off his hops and his shot, he played absolutely incredible today.
Artest, most importantly, had a great debut, and I mean GREAT. 12 points, 9 boards and 7 assists. Man, Ariza was 1-11 today, and Artest was all over the place, the defense was great. Shows us why Lakers signed him.
Lakers have to one thing and that is sign none of the 4 that played at the end. (Gaffney, Gelaballe, etc…)
Most importantly the team chemistry was great, everyone touched the ball today before it went into the hoop (Kobe drives, to DFish who gets doubled, out to the open Artest for open 3….BOOM!)
    Keep this up.

  • http://LakersNation Marwan

Hahahaha, Paul Pierce where are you at? You lost today to the Rockets, you had a lead, barely called a lead (6pt) and blew it in the 4th quarter. You say you are the best team and you can beat the Lakers and that Celtics ARE the team to beat. Dont make me laugh, PLEASE DONT.
You lost to a Yao Ming-less, TMAC-less, Artest-less Rockets, and you had 4 All Stars, and they got none. Ariza was in a slump and they still stomped you guys. Hahahaha. Where are you now Paul Pierce, WHERE ARE YOU NOW!?

  • green machine

Who cares about the preseason. The Celts are taking it this year. If the Lakers play us in the finals, we will sweep!!! Bet on that Faker fans!!!!

    • 187 ON BOSTON

      hahahahahah U FUKN LAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Short Dog

FUUCK BOSTON. you will not make it to the finals. the only thing you are going to sweep is purple and gold confetti. If you buy some tickets. BIIIIIIIIIIITCH.

        • coltgym

i like that one short dog. sweep the confetti.

    • touchingmyself

You guys ain’t takin sh!t! You can’t even take a preseason game from the Rockets! The rocket! They’re without Yao and Artest… and Scola barely played! Hahahaha!

      • WOWzer

Hahaha wow i checked the box score and ariza was 1-11. shooting like a superstar. lol. disappointing. They played without t-mac, yao or artest. Rockets are becoming one of my fav teams.

        • touchingmyself

WOWzer, know what’s so funny… I forgot about T-Mac being on that team! He’s been M.I.A. so much from their lineup that I actually forgot that he’s on the team! Priceless! The Rockets without their Big 3 kicked Cockston’s Big 4(now)’s åsses all up and down the court!

Spin it however you want you Cock sucking Celd!ck fan! If your team can’t compete nor care enough to win a preseason game, you guys ain’t good enough to go to the Finals! You’re right that it’s not important to win and it’s just more important to get loose and get ready for the season, but serious competitors like Kobe and Artest, don’t even want to lose a scrimmage game and now look at you guys 0-1! I love it!

          Go Lakers!!!!!!!

    • Smush Walton

The only thing I’ll bet on is “Green Machine” is an idiot. That is a sure bet if there ever was one!!!

    • http://LakersNation Marwan

Hey green machine, even the Laker girls will stomp on Celtic’s sorry ass.

Its that simple, anything Los Angeles stomps on anything Boston.

Anything Lakers stomps on anything Celtics.

      Get it?

  • SD Anthony

Those boys looked shaaaaaarp. I could stand to see Bynum shave some points off to add to that tiny rebound total, but I’m just splitting hairs. Ron looked like he is going to fit better than we could have imagined. Odom looks head and shoulders above any possible match up they can throw at him. Kobe is the best player of all time. And the other new guys showed that we have options to burn.
I’m glad Pau’s finger is fine and believe he is going to be even better this year if that is even possible. Shannon and Jordan looked great. I’m beside myself with optimism. Anyone else feel a 70 win season? (We’ll see)
And the green puke troll can take a hike. He’s hoping that the pre season is not even a slight indication of how good his team is or he’ll be cryin’!

  • Short Dog

I feel like I just got released from county. Great start. I like what I see.

  • green machine

STD of the day should be Laker fans. They are the dumbest fans in the world.

    • Short Dog

STD’s is what you have on your ass bitch. Laker Nation.

    • touchingmyself

STD is your Celd!ck organization for bringing in Rash!t Wallåss! That fool already got a T for his stupid åss antics! I can’t wait to see your Cockston Celd!cks implode!

      • green machine

Last time I checked Kobe got a T too.

        • Short Dog

Who cares about your suckdics. Why are you jocking us. All up on our balls. Go suck a Celdick.
          1aker Nat1on

        • Short Dog

Stop swinging on our balls. Go suck a Celdick.

        • touchingmyself

Yeah, but Kobe’s T was rubbing the ref’s head not mouthing off like Wallåss! You gotta learn to differentiate between the 2… Kobe was being playful and the ref was a hard liner about the player shouldn’t touch the refs vs. Wallåss being malicious and degrading people as usual! Kobe is not gonna get called for many of those. but Wallåss will get called for his EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Can’t just come in here and say that “Last time I checked Kobe got a T too”. It don’t work that way, you’ve always gotta check the CONTEXT of the situation!

So, check your facts and sources before bringing your weakass takes into the Lakers blogs DUMBÅSS! Cause you’re just making yourself and your entire Cockston Nation look stupid all over again!

          • WOWzer

Ok fine you can suck on mine if you want. JUST GET OFF Laker Nations nuts aite. thats a good bitch

  • blertc

we may have lost trevor but at least we got his pg alter ego…DOWNTOWN SHANNON BROWN! Anyone else notice kcal bleeping out shannon brown near the end of the fourth? Lol

    • coltgym

  • Laker 2009 Champ

Lakers will be unstoppable this year. period.

FUCKK Boston, Cavs, Magics, SA, etc. they all going to end up with a big fuckken “L” when they play us.

    Laker Nation.

  • LakersFirst

Come on guys, lets call Boston by their proper name …

    BOSTON SUCKDICS

  • xfellerx

missed most of the game? and you get to write up a Post-Game Report?

    sad.

    • daboss1848

he provides the tix – so he gets the privilege . . .

  • http://6thgenaccord.com KING

you shoulda been watching the Laker Game, baseball is boring, and yeah i also heard kcal muting shannon lol overall good game tho, everybody looked sharp. Bynum, the machine and ShanWoW were my standouts, hopefully they can keep it going.

  • http://LakersNation Marwan

You know what pissed me off. NBA had a Top 10 countdown for the games, and Shannon Brown’s was not 1. Nope, it was not even on the list too. That pisses me off, and the other dunks were regular dunk.

Is it me or does NBA have something against Lakers?

    • l.alakeshow

yup i notice that too…but i think those were the highlights of the day before or maybe they put in the highlights before the laker gm

  • http://LakersNation Marwan

I’d go an NBA preseason game over a baseball Finals game anyday its that simple NBA>Baseball

  • Fan of the Mamba

    Marwan,

I believe the NBA is trying it’s best to change the focus from the Lakers to anything Lebron James and the Cavs. I actually wrote a comment to them today because they don’t even have highlights for last night’s Lakers game. The Lakers are still the #1 team and you would think they’d be the talk of the NBA as the reigning champs but 50-90% of the news is Cavs, Lebron or Shaq related.

But it won’t work. The Lakers are going to be so good this year they will be the story of the 2009-2010 season.
