Let’s have some constructive criticism here, no?

  • PauKobeBynumOdomDynasty

haha u look like offense tho!

Umm if Joseph or any other non-Laker fans comes and reads/sees this, all they will say is that “oh we’re gonna boycott the MVP award cuz its obvious LeBron will get it”

The MVP i say….with respect to u andrew….is a great award. Of course, greatness is achieved in the postseason, but the regular season is the time when the world sees which teams are talented and have the mental strength to go through the season. This is where leaders are made, and the MVP is basically calling out the best leader and handing them an award. Ask any NBA star (not including Stephon Marbury), they’d rather have the ring compared to the MVP.

    Thats my take on it.

  • Eidraq

    finals mvp sounds good!

  • LakerPoetBR

Yeah… no. I mean, it seems you are already giving up the mvp
race. And what kind of laker uses a orlando jersey anyway….?

  • Andrew Rafner

here is the thing, how often does the regular season MVP go on to win the championship?

recently it hasnt even yielded a trip to the finals

  • PauKobeBynumOdomDynasty

the best team wins the championship, not the best leader. Last year, I admit, the Celtics were the best team in the NBA.

Huh? The most recent MVP was Kobe Bryant and I believe the Lakers made it to the finals last year.

But anyway, that is a moot point. After this loss, I don’t think Kobe deserves the MVP because his biggest leverage was to hold the best overall record. We’re 2 games behind the Cavs with a handful of games left. In all honesty, it’s time to start planning for the playoffs. Give Pau Gasol and Kobe less minutes, and be satisfied with the #1 seed in the west, #2 overall.

Don’t let jealous people with their own issues like kb24forlife bother you brother. He just sounds like some punk kid. My question for you, is that a Hulkamania finger on your dresser? That’s vintage!

  • Mitch4Pres

    keep doing ur thing rafner

I agree with this post. It’s nice to see someone speak their mind in amidst the crazy MVP race that is going on right now. As a devout Laker fan, I honestly don’t care about the MVP trophy simply because I am a Laker fan FIRST and a Kobe Fan SECOND. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to see Kobe get the MVP trophy and do I think he deserves it? Yes, he does but so do other players such as LeBron or DWade. But that’s besides the point. The MVP trophy is for the individual, not the team. With this team notion in mind, I honestly would rather have Kobe win the NBA Finals MVP because odds are… if Kobe wins NBA Finals MVP, that means the Lakers are WORLD CHAMPIONS yet again.

    `Nuff Said.

  • XXL

No one talks about Chris Paul or Dwight Howard in the MVP race. Its all James vs Wade … Kobe won it last year, and after Nash won back to backs, I dont think back to back MVPs are coveted. IMO

  • Freshh

    Cinnamon Toast Crunch

  • james

tell me why these lakersnation guys all look like losers

  • TLN

Boycott indeed. But can this lakers win a championship thats what i want to know.

  • gugy

I agreed, It seems very unlikely Kobe will win back to back MVPs. Lebron is just on fire with the Cavs and it looks like they will clinch HCA as well.

Anyway, all of this does not matter. The Lakers are a better team than the Cavs and if we get them at the finals, we will beat them.

  • alan

i thought sasha finally got haircut in time for the finals. miscalcualtion

  • PhilsArmy.

    Lakers vs Celtics Finals
    Kobe=MVP finlas+ 4th ring :)

  • Andrew Rafner

i know that littlesash and i look alike

  • Taylor

I dont think kobe will win mvp, but i think the lakers will win the championship, unlike the team with the mvp on it. If Lebron wins mvp, it would be nice to see kobe win Finals mvp and come home with another ring.

  • baha

That was one of the dumbest posts I’ve seen. How are you boycotting the mvp? You don’t say how you’re gonna boycott (you can’t) and instead you just spent an afternoon making a post about it?

  • Andrew Rafner

[Comment ID #66110 Will Be Quoted Here]

a boycott is a refusal to participate. therefore, i refuse to participate in any type of discourse, chants, tshirts, sings etc. regarding the 2009 NBA MVP Race.

Dude, if you are going to do a web cast. You have to know (or someone else at TLN) that people on this board are going to rail into you for being babysash with caterpiller eyebrows. Here’s a suggestion: Shave and Wax. You can avoid a lot of heart ache in the future. Also, why not try a background other than mom’s living room? It might just add a little credibility to your actions. Then maybe a real discussion can occur. We live in a vain and superficial society and as we can see by the many comments in this thred, many people just can’t get past those items of distraction. A little more thought next time!

Oh and price lebron will win the MVP this year. Is he the right choice? Who cares. I will hold off on calling him king anything until he can win the big dance.

  • ilikebasketball

a boycott based on the principle that it’s backward thinking to reward individual play in a game that only works in a team setting(much like Phil said) would have worked 6 months ago, but now that it’s so close, and our guy seems to not be getting it(and lehype losing twice to kobe, miserably, while kobe was injured; and having a losing record against the real champion contenders has faded from peoples minds), it seems more of a rebelling against our not winning it, than against the mvp award.
and how do you boycott something you don’t have a vote in? or a say, really?

also, hats off to you rafner, even though i may not agree with you a bit of the time, for putting yourself out there on this site, what with all these jacka$$’s who can’t form a thoughtful sentence to save their life but try to tear you down at every post.

the first step is acknowledging that we live in a vain and superficial society, the second step is to separate yourself from that superficial behavior. You were just that close to being a productive counter-balance to this society’s sickness’.
