TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers @ Warriors

warriorspost114

Talk about a game of runs! First it was all Warriors — then all Lakers, then the Warriors came back, then the Lakers opened it up — and a few more of those and a Laker victory. Good thing the game wasn’t 55 minutes long!

In the expected high scoring game, the Lakers finished with 114 points on 45% shooting.

The difference in the game tonight game on the boards where the Lakers grabbed 51 vs. 43 and the stripe where the Lake Show hit 27 of 29, 16 more than the 11 of 17 Warriors.

The Lakers had a balanced attack with several weapons tonight! Biedrins had quite the statline tonight — 12 points, 17 boards, 8 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks. Pretty nice for a big man.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Pau destroyed the Warriors inside! 33 points and 18 rebounds. Haven’t seen that since Shaq!

2) Bynum also picked on the little Warriors with 18 points and 11 boards.

3) Kobe’s 21, 5, and 5 were the perfect compliment to Pau’s 33.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Vlad Rad again. Scoreless. Useless.

Play of the Game: Kobe’s dunk or Pau’s back to back dunks?

What to Look for Next Game: Another high scoring game and another Laker win as the Lakers look to get revenge on the Pacers.

Ticket Info: Tickets for the Friday night game are starting at $40. E-Mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 213-221-7681 and mention TLN.

Go Lakers!!!

Again, Kobe got no calls. What is going on?

  • Razor Ramon

im writing a letter the league and givin them a piece of my mind on these no calls for kobe!

  • Boston sux

I have mixed feelings. I’m glad Boston is sucking these days but then again I’m not. I’m actually rooting for them in the East. I want them to be in tip top shape. I want them to destroy opponents. Why? So that there’s NO excuse when we meet them in the championship and regain what’s rightfully ours. So let’s all hope that Boston picks it up. But yeah, Boston sux!!!! HAHAHAHA I’m loving how they must feel.

It’s funny because I’m just as torn. It’s truly a paradox: I want them (Boston) to suck because of the rivalry, but I want them to do relatively well because..well, it’s a rivalry and only makes the redemption so much sweeter.

Either way, it’s a win-win situation as long as the Lakers end up on top =P

    AMEN.

  • T.A.

    I want them to SUCK!!!

    F BOSTON!!!

I WANT TO SEE KOBE vs LEBRON IN THE FINALS!!

  • lainok

I would love a kobe vs lebron matchup…if it weren’t for the celtics. If you are a laker fan or a basketball fan in general then lakers/celtics is the dream ticket, especially after last years finals and the christmas day game. Now in like, 6 years or so when Kobe is looking into the bright light of retirement, lebron still hasn’t gotten a ring, then he can come over here, fill the void and be a laker. King James in Purple and Gold would be awesome. But only after Kobe.

  • jason

lol i dont care if we beat the charlotte bobcats in the finals as long as we win the title..thats all the redemption i need…good win for the lakers..golden state can score and score in a hurry so i wasnt suprised to see all the runs..all in all we stuck to gettin the ball in the post wich is somethin i loved to see.

  • Martin

The refs were suspiciously conservative in their whistleblowing regarding contact on Kobe. He probably should have had 6-10 more free throw attempts…. but they called it loose the whole game, so I wont make it an issue.

I thought for sure that Sasha was gonna be today’s STD, but he ended up with a decent stat line– it seemed like he couldnt buy a three pointer and I found myself yelling at the television. As Barkley says, the man has no conscience (how can a machine have a conscience??) Plus, Vlad was a space cadet today. Get it in gear, man.

Great to see Andrew productive! I hope he doesnt sulk ’cause he sat the fourth even though he was in a rhythm.

Pau’s fire tonight reminded me of his first couple of games with LA– the swagger, the force of the dunks. Beautiful.

I’ve been watching Marc Gasol with the Grizzlies on League Pass– I swear, crazy as it sounds, we shouldn’t have given that guy up. We should have done what we needed to to get Pau, but not given up Marc. He’s a BEAST. He’s thicker than Pau and has the potential to be much stronger (Pau’s only weakness) while posessing the same (if less refined at this point) skill set as his brother. I have a nickname for him: Euroshaq.

  • Martin

Lainok @7:43AM– Kobe is gonna be around for another 6-8 years, and in prime condition for another 3 or 4 of those to boot. The Lebron we’d be getting wouldn’t be the Lebron we’re seeing today. The way he plays, relying heavily on strength and athleticism, hurling himself at the basket, elevating over people, is gonna take a huge toll unless he starts playing smarter. I’m not taking anything aay from ‘Bron– he’s the greatest physical specemin the league’s ever seen along with Shaq and Chamberlain. Certainly an anomoly as a perimeter player.

My point is that by the time Kobe is done, Bron is likely to be winding down (or wound down.) At that point there’ll be another “King” we’ll wanna go after. Maybe Jerry West and Mitch Kupchak are scouting the middleschools as we speak!

  • xtro

josh powell should get more minutes.

  • http://TheLakersNation.info Billy Kupchak

yeah, JP has been gaining healthy energy, so he should get more minutes!

    Insanely Healthy Energy for TLN!

  • lakers4life

i want kobe and the rest of the team who witnessed the riot in my hometown last night to speak out for Oscar Grant and the people.MURDER!!! MURDER!!! MURDER!!!

a win last night doesnt mean anything, after you’ve seen what happend.youtube it, shoot go to CNN. yeah, its not laker comment, but actually it is. its time for these big star athletes to step their game up.

Thank you, that’s what I needed to hear. Everytime I talk to other fans, they constantly talk about Lebron James dethroning Kobe as the best basketball player in the world – if you underatand the game, then you know that is false.

I agree that lebron is the most ATHLETIC in the world, but by no means is he better than kobe until he develops a jumpshot and finally starts to be more of a clutch player.

In football terms, Lebron reminds me of a really physically talented runningback that pounds opposing teams, but only lasts so long because of the wear and tear he inflicts on his own body. Those 24 year old legs won’t be like that forever. Maybe Kobe could teach him how to be more reserved and develop the mid-range game – then we’ll think about picking him up. 2010? ;)

  • abs

    well said Martin.

  • Smush Walton

Nice win thanks primarily to Pau and Kobe. Nice to see Andrew get going again.

VladRad has really sucked this year. He launches that goofy high arching rainbow shot of his, blows layups, misses dunks, drops the ball out of bounds. We should have torn up his contract and booted him off the team when he hurt himself last year snowboarding.

Fisher needs to quit driving into the paint. He ends up being dwarfed in there and foolishly falls down in hopes of a whistle. I think by now all refs have caught on to this act and aren’t falling for it anymore.

I was looking forward to seeing Sun play, but he seems lost out there. I don’t have much hope for this guy. He seems so slowfooted and clumsy. And they were comparing him to Magic Johnson? What a Joke!

  • trade_lamo

It was great watching the game with out Lamo Odumb – can’t wait to get rid of this f@cker !!!

  • jason

trade_lamo..great job supporting our players there bro..and u obviously dont pay close enough attention to the game to notice the lil things odom does..and u cant argue with our point differential when hes on the floor..we really missed him when kobe went out in the 4th against the hornets the other night…we’re a much better team with him right now..then without him.

  • lakers4lyfe

trade_lamo…ur a dipshit…u obviously dont watch the game. if we had LO in that hornets game we woulda won. He brings alot to the game, and damn…im starting to miss luke too. get vlad outta there. hes not even playing ball…he seems so confused.

you mean like bad shots, stupid turnovers, ill advised three pointers, dropped balls, missed layups and stupid offensive fouls – those little things.

I watch every single game. You can thank our dumb a$$ coach for his decision to sit Kobe in the first part of the fourth. Kobe needs to rest with like two minutes left in the 3rd and return at the eleven minute mark, especially in a close game.

That’s bad coaching and not us missing Lamo.

Ur talkim about the coach with nine rings????????…just want to make sure were thinkin of the same guy.

  • Yoyo

FUCCKING STEVE AVERY!! I DARE YOU MAKING FUN OF ANY OF OUR PLAYERS YOU ASSHOLE! BETTER WATCH WHAT YOU ARE WRITTING NEXT TIME ASSHOLE!

“Ur talkim about the coach with nine rings????????…just want to make sure were thinkin of the same guy.”

    – I saw that coming a mile away … Always the same argument with you Phil supporters, 9 rings, 9 rings, 9rings …

Listen, “9 rings” is not an answer or an argument. How many has he lost recently? His zen style of coaching only works for a mature and established team, and not a young team like LA with the likes of Bynum, Sasha ….

  • MR. JUAN_YOUR WARLOCK

    trade_lamo is Right,
Even tho, trading LO, is a tuff call at this point!
“9 rings”, for the sake of argument is the weakest answer or reply to winning NBA championships!
    Players win rings, not Coaches!
    i.e. Rudy Tomjanovich…

  • ab4sure

It is not trade LO or not Trade LO. The question is how much can you get for him? I don’t know if a trade straight up for Marion would be equal in value because LO does so many different things. Like all players, except for the very best, it depends on the value in return and I don’t think anyone is offering the lakers enough in return.
