Warriors Lakers BasketballAnother preseason game in the books for the Lakers.

This one didn’t look bad at all offensively, as the Lakers had a well-balanced attack. Defensively, the Lakers still have work to do.

Four of the five Lakers starters hit double figures, and Artest helped them get there with his 8 assists.

The Lakers as a team shot over 50% and had 30 assists. The Laker bigs, Lamar and Bynum dominated the Warrior bigs, outscoring them 36 to 11. Lamar really shut down Randolph.

Now, the bests of the day…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Bynum’s 20 points, 9 boards and 2 blocks is the type of play I hope to see more of this year.

2) Artest only had 6 points, but he had 8 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. Very efficient on only 3 shots. This is the Ron we need this season.

3) Lamar took care of business on both ends of the court and looked like he is in mid-season form in 22 minutes of play tonight.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): D.J. had a nice layup, but other than that he sucked. 2 turnovers, 3 fouls in 11 minutes.

Play of the Night: Artest’s defensive play in the fourth with the good help defense, blocked shot, and saving the ball from going out of bounds.

What to look for next game: Eh, still preseason.

    “out of bounce”? Really?
    I guess it’s pre-season for reporters, too.
    Or pre-school.
O GOD, I can’t freakin wait till next Tuesday!!!!

  • Grammar Patrol

Correction: Artest had 8 ASSISTS, not rebounds.

    TLN = amateurs.

  • Grammar Patrol

Correction #2: Bynum had 20 points, not 17.

What the hell kind of box score are you looking at?!

  • Grammar Patrol

    “their” should of been “there”…

    • Grammar Patrol

If you’re going to try to impersonate me, at least do it without making it look too obvious.

‘should of’? It’s ‘should have,’ you illiterate fool.

      • lilkobe24_game_is_more_like_lilcobykarl11

Oh, was that an impostor? Please accept my apologies then, the real Grammar Patrol that is!

    • lilkobe24_game_is_more_like_lilcobykarl11

Grammar Patrol? Really? Of course you really meant, “should HAVE been”, not “should OF been”! Please go and patrol an E.S.L. class and not this site, because you obviously aren’t up for the task!

p.s. I know that the HAVE and the OF shouldn’t be capped, but I’m just throwing it out there for stressing purposes! LOL!

How do you become a TLN reporter? Do you have to write like a 5th grader? My 10 year old son wants a
job, but he might write to well for this site…

Correction: “he might write TOO well for this site…”

        LMAO! You dudes are hilarious.

  • WifelovesLuke

Bynum is the key this season and I love the way Artest is playing. Defense has some holes in it but most of that can probably be attributed to the fact that PJ is not working with his true rotations right now. Give this team a few weeks into the season and they’ll be scary good.

This is the in-depth stuff, baby!

  • 242LakerFan

Seriously, sorry Steve. I didn’t mean to start this little steam train, but you must admit, “out of bounce” is just a little beyond. I hope your fellow TLN’ers aren’t ragging too hard on you.
As to the substance of the game, I agree with WifelovesLuke that Bynum is really going to be key this year. Maybe not THE key but certainly a lead player in a star-studded cast.

Ok guys, enough with the insults. They are doing what you are asking which is write articles on Lakers. Who actually cares about the grammar? You get the message, it was “there” ball instead of “their”. Still same message just different spelling, who gives a darn. “5th grader this, 5th grader that” You guys are acting like 5th graders for insulting TLN like that. Show some class like real Laker fans and show some respect to these guys who take their time out to write these article for us.

    • Grammar Patrol

Many would probably agree that it’s ridiculous to keep insulting them of their grammar and punctuation mistakes, but when it comes to giving us wrong statistics, it’s simply inexcusable. As recognized as this site has become, I at least expect a little bit of professionalism in the articles they write, and might I add that they write very little in relationship to the third-party articles or content that they post in the first place.

All I’m saying is, step it up, TLN.
