TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Supersonics

kobedurant.jpgThe Lakers first game without Bynum was tonight. Too bad it won’t be the last. The Lakers barely won in Seattle, handing the Sonics their 28th loss of the season. It was an ugly win for the Lakers as they decided not to play defense tonight. The effects of Bynum were shown tonight as the Lakers gave up 55 rebounds, and only had 4 blocks.

The good news for the Lakers—only 8 turnovers in 53 minutes of play. The Lakers had 5 players in double figures, but Kobe didn’t help get others involved tonight. He took 44 shots in 42 minutes. The Lakers need to move the ball better if they want to win these next few games. Now, the bests of the night:

Top 3 Laker performers:

1) While Kobe took tons of shots, he did shoot a good percentage and poured in 48 points including many in the overtime. Only 1 turnover tonight, unfortunately at the end of regulation.

2) Odom shot 3-15 tonight, but added 14 rebounds, 7 assists, a steal and a block. He did the facilitating tonight while Kobe hoisted.

3) Farmar continues his superb play. 5-6 FGs, 4 assists, 0 turnovers. Good game Jordan!

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): I can’t clearly name a player that was the STD tonight. Our overall team defense was the STD. 121 points to the Sonics?

Key play of the game
: Luke to Kobe on the break for the one handed jam!

What to look for next game: I don’t know what to expect. Suns are hurt, but so are we. Game is Thursday night @ 7:30 PM (TNT).
