The Lakers continue to embarrass playoff teams of 2008 with their elite defense and great ball movement. Tonight, the victims were the Nuggets, who were held to only 90 points (FREE TACOS!) on under 43% shooting. The Lakers had 12 steals and 9 blocks.

When it came down to it, the Lakers just executed better in the half court set. Better passing, shooting, dribbling, and even rebounding.

The Lakers did a number on Melo who was held to 5-19 shooting on the night (cough Ariza cough).

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker performers -

1) Kobe did it all. 29 points on 12-18 shooting and 2 steals to add to it.

2) Ariza was everywhere tonight. Got his hands on many loose balls and destroyed Melo on defense. Ariza 11 points, Melo 10.

3) Bynum had 13 and 13 tonight. He also had 5 assists and a block. I would have liked to see him play a little more defense on Nene. Seemed like Nene was getting some easy ones tonight.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): This is eassssy. I was thinking about Sasha when he was 2 for 7. 2 for 11 makes it that much easier. He also threw the worst pass I’ve ever seen with 2 minutes to go in the game.

Play of the Game: Kobe’s steal and dunk.

What to Look for Next Game: Blowout — the Kings suck and Martin is hurt.

Ticket Info: Kings game tickets start at $33 each for uppers, $115 each for VIP PREMIERS. E-mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 818-387-8224 and mention TLN.

now that was a kick ass game! this is how the lakers are capable of playing. when the second unit’s playing the entire 4th…that’s a GREAT GAME!

  • david gamboa

lamar should come off the bench aggressive. he has been quoted many times as a triple double threat, but how many did he really have over the course of his career? at most, 4.

  • Lo12

im from Slovenia and i think sasha sucks big time

  • True Lakers Fan

Great Win LO played Surberb tonight 13 pts 5-7 plus 15 when on the court and 1 blk shot

  • Joey

I think Sasha is just having trouble adjusting to his minimized role on the team.

finally phil jackson decided to put powell in the game

  • jaopob

Sasha did not get a full pre-season, so I’d give him some time to get his rhythm. Besides that he is a great defender, always expending lots of energy trying to get in the other teams face. At least we have someone who will do that and make them think twice before they try to score on us. Also, I notice even when Sasha misses a shot and the ball bounces off the rim, chances are that one of our players will get his miss and put it back in. Now that’s team work!

    great game by the Lakers…

hey Lakers Nation…can you guys put a discussion post about what everyone thinks the Lakers record will be at the end of the season??

I think it’d be really interesting if people studied the rest of the schedule and really analyzed how many wins/losses the lakers are gonna end up with at the end.

I haven’t looked at the full schedule and all the road games (grammy trip) and the back to backs and everything, but i’d be curious to think what people think….

of course, it’d be realistic records…not people saying “they’ll go 81-1…cause thats just silly.

not sure if you guys will read this…but jus wanted to share my thoughts.

Anyone know the camera policy for staples center? Is it possible to bring a nikon type camera (DSLR) into the stadium?

    ANONFTWLOL —

i brought my canon rebel SLR camera to a game and no one said anything…

my advice though…make sure the lens isn’t that long…and also don’t bring it in a big case…just carry the camera so it’s not a big deal.

How long was the lens you had attached? I have a Nikon D50 and the lens meets the requirement Staples Center has (anything less than 3.5 inches.) Just worried someone is going to be a stickler.
