Another loss against a great team for the Lakers, 112-105. Tonight, it was only the third time in 100 games that the Lakers lost despite shooting 56.2% from the field. Why did they lose? 16 turnovers compared to only 8 from the Mavs, and they were outrebounded by 4. It was just a sloppy effort by the Lakers. Too many forced turnovers.

I thought the benched stepped up tonight to make up for the starters poor effort (cough Kwame, cough Lamar, cough Luke). It seemed only the Lakers backcourt showed up tonight. It was a long game to watch as the Lakers went 28-40 from the line and the Mavs went 29-36. If the Lakers make 75% of their free-throws tonight, we have a different ball game.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker performers:

1) Kobe stepped up again. 40 points on 19 shots. 10 boards and 5 assists as well. Great effort Kobe.

2) DJ Mbenga really put a lot of effort out tonight. He was forced to guard Dirk and did a good job. He finished with 5 points on 2-2 FGs and 4 boards. He also kept Kwame off the floor.

3) Farmar had a costly turnover in the final minutes. However he did bring us back with 8-13 FGs, 4 rebounds, 5 assists.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): I know a lot of you look at Kwame’s stats and see 4-6 FGs = good game right? But I thought he played awful again. He didn’t hustle at all and gave up easy second baskets to Dampier. Dampier had the same amount of offensive boards as Kwame had total. I think it’s time to bench Kwame. Kwame had a -10 when he was out there, whereas Mbenga was +7. Also, Lamar gets honorable mention for the STD. 2-9 shooting says it all.

Key play of the game: Kobe’s dunk while Harris tweaked his ankle.

What to look for next game: Cleveland is better than their record, but still should be a win for the Lakers. Key to the game—Luke on defense vs LeBron and keeping Gooden off the boards. Game is Sunday @ 12:30 PM (ABC).

    Trade List:

    Kwame
    LO
    Luke

  • http://getgarnett.com lakeshow08

STD definately Odom, kind of expect it from Luke and Kwame all the time but L.O is just as bad as they are.

  • T-Dub

    Mavs starting fowards = 52pts / 20 rebs

    Lakers starting fowards = 8pts / 6 rebs…Luke and Lamar

Ok, now I’m sick of some people on this site trying to defend these BUMS! THERE IS NO DEFENSE! This is where the Lakers loose games. Don’t blame Kwame anymore! These bums have been starting together for 3 yrs now. PJ keeps saying what they have to do. IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN! We have the weakest 3 and 4 spot in the league, yet we’re a “championship caliber” team. Whoever really believes that, stay off the crack pipe! Until one or both of these bums go, get comfortable with mediocrity. Time to Booo Luke and Lamar. And I’m Not saying this because we lost a few games. I was saying it when we were on that 17-3 run…just ask Lakersfirst and ab4sure!

  • lalaland

well this was a horrible defensive game again with bad turnovers. why does pj not call to when the other team keeps making these runs in the third quarter. i just dont get it. this is gonna be a long month and a half before bynum and ariza come back then we will actually play defense and keep other teams off the boards and keep kwame and luke on the bench.

  • KOBEISKING

LOL No offense HZM but its lakers vs MAVS

  • T-Dub

Lebron/Gooden vs. Walton/Odom…. Zeke vs. Kwame??? Are you F*cking kidding me? Chalk it up as another loss. Our guards can’t do it themselves!!!!!!!

  • mplakers

for the time being, why not start farmar, ronny, sasha, kobe, and mbenga, like the line-up that they had when they made their run back at the mavs. with the exception of fisher, who has more solid nights than not, it’s a great way to sit out the other supposed starters (odumb, fluke, and doo-doo brown)

they need to get the message to get their game faces on or sit on the pine. that line-up above showed alot of heart and determination and if there were a couple of turnovers that we could have avoided, i believe we could have snuck out with a win.

with fluke, odumb, and doo-doo brown, the offense looks terrible with fluke’s slow-mo moves, odumb’s tendency to use his weakest arsenal(the outside shot) and doo-doo brown’s overall sh-i-t-ty play

  • nate

    …Lakers vs. Mavs

  • http://www.myspace.com/jwalksocali jermaine mciver

Defense the turnovers lead to easy buckets but the Lakers didn’t really start playing defense until the late fourth when they made a push. Phil’s gotta get the team playin as a unit on the defensive end until Bynum comes back. They gotta hold teams to under 100 points a game if they got any chance of winning some games!

  • David

Lamar’s nick name should be the magician. No one can dissapear and reapear in games like he can.

  • somelakerfan1

lol its suppose to be lakers vs. Mavs not nuggets
but anyways whats wrong with the lakers and the third quarter
especially kwame and odom and luke what the hell if we have problems shooting the ball in the start of 3rd phil put sasha for luke or fisher so they could shoot. he and farmar brought us bak in the game but kobe couldnt finish it. at the end there were to much turnovers and fouls.

  • T-Dub

Luke , Lamar, Kwame…These are the three guys that took the Suns to 7 games(FLUKE)! Obviously a good matchup AT THE TIME!!! These are the three guys we started last season with, fell off second half, got punked by the same Suns. These are the same guys Kobe went on a rampage about last summer, fO did nothing, and these are the three we started this season with, the three we have now! Faith is one thing but stupidity is something else. DAMN!…DAMN!…DAMN!…

  • somelakerfan1

why us with the injures why oh why at leat boston spurs dallas phoenix new orleans detriot golden state why not does teams does everyone hate the lakers just cause bak at the time and now there good. what the hell why cant those teams have injures (well spurs had them but still) i dont get it is it lamars fault he got them injured. lamar go injure other people not ur teammates

  • MILO

We need to pull the trigger on some trades at least open up some spots for players that will actually contribute. We need to get rid of Walton LO and Kwame open up some spots for the Lakers to sign more players.AT THIS POINT I WOULD EVEN TRY TO GET D-RODMAN OUT OF RETIREMENT I DONT CARE IF HE’S 43-45 OR WHAT EVER, HIS OLD ASS WOULD STILL CONTRIBUTE MORE THAN SOME OF OUR 25 YEAR OLDS (WALTON LO)AS FOR KWAME HE’S GONE AFTER THIS SEASON NO ONE WANTS HIM SO WE CANT TRADE HIM—WALTON AND LO FOR MIKE MILLER/GASOL OR ARTEST I CANT STAND THESE DUMB ASS MU-TH-A-FU-CK-ERS NO MORE!!!

  • mplakers

    milo,

did mess up with the turnovers, but so did farmar, and kobe, ronny, mbenga,

man they all created some nasty turnovers at the end there. that’s what happens when you’re trying to frantically make up a 17 point deficit created by fluke, odumb, and doo-doo brown.

  • mplakers

***sasha did f-up with the turnover is what i wanted to state first

  • JMag

How much are the Lakers paying Lamar? He should be paid a bag of peanuts at this point. With his size, he should be taking the ball to the hole like Kobe does. Or back somebody down the block instead of taking low percentage jumpshots. Kwame, can buy out be an option at this point? Mbenga had more hustle in him than Kwame. Kwame should just be used when they need to foul somebody…HARD! maybe he should be in a 10 day contract…

Wow, I still see your a Laker fan and you have a faith in the team. If you think the season is over, why don’t you just leave the site?

I don’t know if you were watching tonight’s game, but the Lakers were within 5 points late in the fourth, but unfortunately, Farmar kinda killed that with that turnover pass to Mbenga as we was running the floor (Stu was right, where was Mbenga going to go even if he had caught it). Then on the very next possession, Farmar, by himself, tries to dribble down the lane and throws up a wild lay up. It was at the point that the game went out of reach because Dallas scored after those two sorry possessions.

Everyone talks about trading LO/Walton/Brown, but if the Lakers do that, do you realize what the Lakers are essentially doing? They are basically throwing in the towel for this season because new players, especially starters, will need time to get used to playing with the other Lakers and will need to get used to playing in the triangle. This doesn’t happen just over night. So, do you want to throw in the towel for this season and panic after a few losses or do you want to wait for the Lakers to get healthy, which when healthy they are a very very good team.

MAN A BIG PLUS IS WERE MIGHT BE GETTING VALD RAD BACK SO HE COULD PLAY AND CHRIS MIHM CAUSE WRER INEED OF CENTER, MAN IF ARIZA, BYNUM, CHRIS, AND VLAD WASENT INJURED WE WOULD’VE BEAT SPURS, SUNS, AND DALLAS EASILLY, BUT WE GOT A KINDA EASY GAME BETWEEN DA CAVS AND A SURLEY WIN BETWEEN THE KNICKS, NOW THE THING THAT PEOPLE DONT POINT OUT IS ON THE ROAD TRIP IS WE PLAY ALOT OF UNDER 500 TEAMS AND KINDA OVER 500 TEAMS NOT INCLUDEING PISTON AND ORLANDO, IF WE COULD SURVIVE THAT TRIP WITH NO INJURYS THEN WILL BE FINE WHEN ARIZA AND ANDREW COMES BACK, BUT WHEN CHRIS AND VLAD COME BACK THIS SHOULD BE OUR DEPTH CHART

C- CHRIS MIHM/KWAME/DJ(IF HE GETS SIGHNED)
    PF- VLADIMIR RADMANOVICH/RONNY TURIAF
SF- LAMAR ODOM/LUKE WALTON/SASHA VUJACIC(ON THIS ROAD TRIP KOBE IS GONNA PLAY AT LEAST 40 MINUTES A GAME SO DONT ESPECT TO SEE SASHA IN THERE INLESS WE NEED A SHOOTER)
    SG- KOBE BRYANT/JAVARIS/COBY KARL
PG- DEREK FISHER/JORDAN FARMAR…….BUT WHEN ANDREW COMES BACK AND ARIZA THIS OUR DEPTH

    C- ANDREW BYNUM/CHRIS MIHM/KWAME BROWN
    PF- LAMAR ODOM/VLADIMIR RADMONOVICH/RONNY TURIAF
SF- LUKE WALTON/TREVER ARIZA(NOT TREVER WILL START WHEN THEY PLAY THE LEBRONS AND ALL THAT)
    SG- KOBE BRYANT/SASHA VUJACIC/COBY KARL
    PG- DEREK FISHER/JORDAN FARMAR/JAVARIS CHRITTENTON
NOW I KNOW LAMAR CAN PLAY AT A HIGH LEVEL HE JUST TO SOFT, HE HAS TO BE 16 OR 17 POINTS 12 OR MORE REBOUNDS 3 OR 4 ASSIST GUY THIS ROAD TRIP, WHICH I KNOW HE COULD DO, KOBE IS GONNA BE KOBE, LUKE WALTON HAS TO BE A SMART PLAYER WHITCH HE ALREADY IS, KWAME AND MIHM HAVE TO STEP UP, VLAD, SASHA, JORDAN, AND DEREK HAS TO BE DEAD EYE SHOOTERS, THATS OUR KEY TO BE SUCCESFUL THIS NEXT MONTH OH AND WE HAVE TO PLAY GREAT QAURTERS NOT PLAY GOOD THE FIRST HALF THEN LET A TEAM MURDER US 3RD THEN TRY TO MAKE A COMEBACK IN THE 4TH BUT STILL LOSE, OH AND ANDREW MIGHT BE COMEING BACK EARLER THEN HIS 8 WEEKS SO WE MIGHT SEE HIM SOON

Again, you like to forget and twist facts. The Lakers were off to the same great start last year as they were this year but again, what happened last year that turned everything around negatively, THE INJURIES!!! Those same three guys that you mentioned were injured last year, came back and were never the same (by the way LO has averaged 19 pts and 12 boards a game against Phoenix in the playoffs the last 2 years). Two of those same three guys were injured again earlier this year and are back but again, they aren’t in the same form as they were earlier in the year. Just like this year, what do we have again, INJURIES!!!! Now, I know you enjoy Laker losses, but no one can deny the face that half of the Laker team is down with injuries (not just Bynum but key bench players that by starters minutes are also down). The team has 14 players (before Mbenga), 4 are injured and 2 are rookies so we are down to 8 players (now 9 w/ Mbenga on his 10 day contract) which is drastically different when the Lakers were going on 10-11 man rotations earlier in the year.

With regards to how you twist your facts, Kobe didn’t go out on a “rampage” and call out LO/Kwame/Luke all by name. He called out BYNUM, the man that made him, and over half of the people on this site, EAT HIS F’N WORDS because now you and everyone know how valuable a center is in the NBA.

Then again, even when they were healthy and went 17-3, you never liked this Laker team. Again, just stating facts.

  • http://Farmers.com Jcritt.=star

We need to trash the triangle and play the pick and roll, kobe is playing too long, give crittenton more minutes, and trade luke and kwame for szczerbiak and wilcox!

  • LakersFirst

[Comment ID #23698 Will Be Quoted Here]

Kobe-wan – First of all the Bulls aren’t giving up Noah. Secondly, the Wallace trade wasn’t based on fact. Even the writer said it wasn’t based on anything he heard. In the L.A. Daily News, it said the following:

“However, the Chicago Tribune’s Sam Smith suggested a new deal the other day in his NBA column, with the Lakers acquiring power forward Ben Wallace in exchange for center Kwame Brown and backup forward Vladimir Radmanovic. Smith’s reasoning was sound, although he acknowledged it was not based on anything he has heard from the Bulls.”

Making trades this late in the year, IS basically throwing in the towel on your team (playoff normally don’t do it). Think about it, if the Lakers were to trade 3 players for 1, your team roster is shorter and that new player has to learn how to play with his new team. Now, I know you love Ben Wallace and you think he is great, but he’s not all that. Wallace still hasn’t learned how to play with the Bulls. It’s obvious that when he was on the Pistons, his teammates made him way better than what he is. Everybody here wants to a short term solution but that doesn’t happen. That’s not realistic.

It’s amazing how fickle people are here. When the Lakers were at full strength, the trade demands stopped, but now that we have so many injuries, and the Lakers have lost a few games, all I see now TRADE TRADE TRADE!!!! The Lakers are injured, did you really expect them to keep winning games like they were?

  • Thuggishdeer

FUCK. WHO ARE WE GOING TO TRADE? AND FOR WHAT? IF YOU GUYS SAY OUR PLAYERS ARE AS BAD AS YOU THINK FORGET ABOUT GETTING SOMEONE BETTER BECAUSE THEIR IS A THING CALLED THE TRIANGLE… IT DISCOMBOBULATES THE WAY PLAYERS PLAY, IT MAKES THEM THINK BEFORE THEY DO. NOT TOO MANY PLAYERS UNDERSTAND THE OFFENSE QUICK.

WHEN THE HELL IS RAD MAN COMING BACK I SURE WOULD LIKE SOME OPTIONS. REMEMBER WHEN WE HAD OPTIONS? NOW WE HAVE NO CHOICE… BUT TO PLAY WALTON EVEN IF HES BAD.

  • LakerMark

Phil Jackson needs to make adjustments and micromanage the game a little more. I’m all for lessons during the season, IF ONLY OUR ENTIRE TEAM IS THERE TO LEARN IT. No use in teaching a lesson of asking an obviously-not-ready team to have composure during another team’s run.

I know that phil is used to priming teams for playoffs, but this is really destroying the confidence of the Lakers Players, especially ones with no guts like Kwame, Lamar, and Luke. I think he needs to have a more hand holding approach until order is restored…

After a few years you’d think someone like Lamar would recognize the situation and step his game up. Instead, as usual, he crawls into this shell and goes through the motions. I feel like i am a shareholder of this organization considering how much I drop for my season seats, and i’d be the first to tell him, “if you aren’t going to come to work, then stay the F- home or seek money elsewhere.”

Lamar. You have no excuse like Kwame. You are supposed to be our 2nd option… our star next to our superstar. If you don’t take it to the rack like you know how… if you don’t post up smalls like you’ve done so many times… if you keep camping at the 3 point arc like a coward.. don’t bother showing up for games. We don’t need you. Farmar, sasha, andothers are DYING to get in.

  • gugy

    Once we get rid off:

    Lamar
    Luke
    Kwame
    Sasha
    Mihn

    We will be champions again.

  • ab4sure

[Comment ID #23687 Will Be Quoted Here]

Your right on Milo. Sasha should just stick to shooting. Sasha is alot like Radman. They both are shooters and basically nothing else and should know their roles. There are some people who think that Sasha is as valuable or even more valuable than Farmar. That will never be the case.

  • T-Dub

Lakersfirst…I must admit, I was wrong about farmar and Turiaf, they are better than i thought. The only real problem I have with this team is Luke and Lamar. Not even Kwame because whats done is done and his days are numbered. What I’m afraid of is watch Luke and Lamar play like this next year. I think after these 2 months without Bynum, we’ll be fighting just for a playoff birth. If your boy Mitch were able to make a trade involving one or both of these guys, I don’t think we’ll be any worse off…fighting for a playoff birth. Even if PJ had to abandon the triangle for the new guys, We have to find something better than 8pts/6rebs by you starting frontcourt. Also I believe when Kobe was taking about do something now last summer, it wasn’t just Bynum, it was LO, Luke, Kwame, Vladrad, and whoever else had to go to bring in better talent. Yes the parkinglot video was about Bynum, but there was a trade proposal on the table from the Nets.

  • DoDoBallz

This may be a joke to you but because I am a true fan at least read it and delete it.
    The Bulls:Wallace+Joe Smith+Nocioni The Lakers:Kwame+Radman+Odom

I Love Lamar and have always supported him, but it seems like its not working for
us on a consistent basis. And with Nocioni we have a true PF who can actually hit
the three.Wallace who defensive presence is still there hes just not in it like he
use to be in Detroit.Smith is solid for us because he is another big man who is something
you can call insurance.Think of your starting line up.Bynum/Nocioni/Ariza/Bryant/Fisher.

A fast pace line up that is probably the best in the league considering everyones strengths.
And defensively they would be a handful.Ariza is almost a Bowen type of player especially
he starts knocking his shots.Bynum stepped up before the injury on the defensive end
and really alter shots.Nocioni’s length alone will make a player think twice about throwing shots
up,also we know Fisher is very pesky on D and we know Bryant will play D like its nothing.

Now that sounds cool but the best thing about this trade is our bench. When your bench consist of
Wallace/Turiaf/Walton/Sasha/Farmer you still keep you defense steady, and though Walton has been
struggling, him off the bench with those type of players brings energy and will definitely sustain leads.
Turiaf shot has been looking more and more effective and he really is starting to come into a role like
Horace Grant but with a little more energy.Sasha’s D is pretty good because hes pesky like Fish and when
he shoots now I don’t hold my breath.Farmer is Farmer and I am proud of what he has accomplished
and he will only get better.

Now if you read all that and didn’t delete it then give yourself a pat on a pat on the back.I could explain how
this trade would help the Bulls which it will but its about my squad right now. Also throw in a couple of pic and
and draft rights of one of our overseas players to sweeten the pot.The Bulls cant get any worse and if we are going to
slide while Bynum is out we might as well do it with a little change in the lineup.Think long run.

I thank you and if you talk to Phil,Dr.Buss,Kupchak or whoever that this is the trade to go with.

Be Bless and a Happy New Year.

I know that this is the trade. It will happen

I am in agreement with you with regards to Luke, the Lakers gave him a much LONGER contract, but last year when he went down was the start of the Laker losses. Honestly, I think Luke is playing injured and remember, Luke’s strength is NOT in scoring. He never was a big scorer. His strength is in passing and creating scoring opportunities for others. With the big man down and LO not being aggressive, who can Luke create shots for?

With regards to LO, he is NOT holding his own, however, who are the Lakers going to trade for LO right now???? If the Lakers are going to trade LO, you need to trade him for another power forward?? LO makes $13M this year so who is another power forward that is available that comes to close to matching LO’s contract? One would say JO, but JO is injured right now and not playing. Right now the Lakers are NOT going to trade LO for a man that isn’t even playing.

So who else is left to trade for? Chris Wilcox?? I don’t think Seattle would give him up, not to mention he only makes $6.5M, so Seattle would have to throw another player to make salaries match. Also, Seattle is looking for expiring contracts. LO’s doesn’t expire until after next season.

After a few losses everyone is screatming, TRADE TRADE TRADE, but to trade now, will hurt your ability to trade in the offseason where ALL teams are interested in talking about trade. Right now, only teams that suck are looking to trade. Remember trades have long term repercussions, so, do you want to make a trade now when only a few teams are looking to trade or do you want to trade in the offseason when there are more options available?

  • nyla

Ya’know,at least Bynum had the good since to get himself into shape and listened to Kareem and Kobe(You can say what you want but the INFAMOUS VIDEO HELPED).He’s only 20 years old and is going harder than LO,Luke(I don’t care what your Daddy says,YOUR LAZY AS HELL)and the reason we have STD’S ON THIS SITE IN THE FIRST PLACE,kwame(I WILL NEVER CAPITALIZE kwame’s name AGAIN,FEELS SO GOOOOOOD TO DO THAT).TRADE,TRADE,TRADE,TRADE,PLEASE MITCH TRADE NOOOOOOOWWWW!

  • mplakers

alot of people seem to like the wilcox for somebody on our team idea. will the sonics go for it? does mitch have the savvy to pull it off?

what about my other question…who is the biggest big man flop of recent times? kwame brown? or michael olowokandi? pervis ellison? or sam bowie?

hey ab4sure, there’s no one else on this site saying that sasha is as valuable than farmar off the bench than me. i stick to my convictions. i believe sasha has the potential to be a great shooter, in fact i think he’s more “use-able” to phil right now than even when vlad rad comes back. sasha stays focused on the games and plays pesky defense, whereas vlad is often aloof and clueless.

let me repeat. everybody in that game had horrible turnovers near the end. it’s what happens when you are trying to make a frantic comeback. courtesy of fluke, odumb, and doo-doo brown.

    Yup, i saw that.
Now, it seems no one is really paying any attention to Kobe’s comment over the last week. Even after losses, he seems to be completely unworried! His faith/confidence is soooo high on this team. Go back and read what he said after the loss to the Spurs and last nigth’s loss to the Mavs. Alsp read what he said about the forth coming roadtrip. Oh, and on espn, Kobe made it known how cofident he is about the Lakers’ chances. Phil also does not think there’s one ‘best’ team in the west. But did say Detroit was the best in the league. Myt point here is that Kobe REALLY believes in this team.

But! BUT! buT! Lamar, Luke and Kwame needs to make sure they prove Kobe right. If they fold, Kobe would be sooooo devasted and the trust would be totally lost and someone would have to go (I’m sure Kobe would volunteer to leave). Right now, I am very suprised by the things Kobe has to say after losses. It’s like he’s immuned to it. I hope his team mates step it up and keep him in this state of mind. I hope he doesn’t go from one extreme to the other.

I think it’s AMAZING how we still get people on here who apologize 4 Luke, Odom and Kwame. What are you people watching. Even before the injuries to Drew,Vlad and Ariza these guys weren’t doing much, well Lamar was playing well but that’s because Drew took the pressure off of him by becoming the second best player on the team. It’s time to cut ties with these cats. It never fails with these guys, right when the team starts playing well someone gets hurt ( usually one of them ), someone gets hurt and the three guys never step up. Luke ,Kwame and LO are know on my hated Lakers list along with:
    Elden Campbell
    Deavon George
    Smush Parker
    Glen Rices’ ex-wife
    Cedric Ceballos
A.C. Green-I haven’t forgiven him for leaving us to play with the Suns and I hate that he came back just in time to collect another ring.

MP, Scoring output is basically the same so they both are a wash on that. But that is basically where it ends. Farmar is a better shooter and creates his own shot. He runs the offense and has the ability to get the others involved especially your man Sasha who relies on Farmar. Sasha neither shoots as well nor can he create his own shot. Farmar has hit many fourth quarter shots in crunch time also. Who is playing with kobe at the end of the game?? Farmar …. Sasha is a player you ride only when he is hot just like Radman. You can depend on Farmar the majority of the times.

Your point “ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT THOSE TWO CAN BE AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN THE OTHER”. That is a weak argument. Almost anyone can have a game that is as good or better than another player for one night. Udoka of the spurs got the best of Kobe the other night, i wouldn’t say he has more value. I am rooting for Sasha to do well for the sake of a laker win.

BTW please show me when you “killed me” on the importance of field goal percentage. That i would like to see….hahahaa

They better WIN tomorrow or THERE WILL BE TRADES,TRUST! LO,AB went down he has not played to his potential,GONE! kwame, just because(I didn’t even put caps on his name, nuff said). LUUUUUUKE,they gave him waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much money(he may be hurt but F#$% DAT,ANY LAKER FAN WOULD PLAY UNTIL HIS LEGS FELL OFF FOR WHAT HE’S GETTING PAYED,LOOK AT JO,THAT’S WHY HE’S HURT NOW CAUSE OF LAST SEASON AND DIDN’T HAVE THE OPERATION IN THE OFF SEASON).It’s time to cut ties. If I worked like that on my job I’d be fired on the spot,PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lakerz

i felt this game dident even count the way the lakers were playing. but farmar did great towards the end which got me back into it.

  • alex

isnt it souospose to say mavericks not nuggets(on title of article)

  • jrich

Lame-ar with another 3 point miss that went wide right and missed the rim completely. This is unacceptable for an NBA player.

  • LakersOnFire

i like what yomi had to say about kobe being relatively unworried about the losses during this period. its to be expected with the personnel that we have available right now. i think phil feels the same way seeing how he’s been leaving the “wrong” people in at certain moments of the game, or letting the team work thru times where they’re really tanking it. he’s letting them get experience during a time when we are handicapped the begin with and also where a win isn’t as important as it might be later (eg. playoffs). he knows we’re crippled and he’s planning for the overall growth of the team for the future(at least i hope thats what he’s thinking). see how close we’ve been against the top teams in the west with our current injuries, i’d say we have a definite shot at going deep into the playoffs. with the full roster we have a good chance any team in a 7 game series.

I think we need to go after either Pau Gasol or Ron Artest. The trade would be built around Kwamae’s contract and Luke Walton. We could throw in another player or pick too but if we get one of those guys not only will it keep us afloat, after Bynum gets back we will really have the best team in the league. How about these line ups.

    Fish
    Kobe
    Artest
    Odom
    Bynum

    or

    Fish
    Kobe
    Odom
    Pau Gasol
    Bynum

We would stil have Vlad Rad, Sasha, Farmar, Ariza, Mihm, Crittenon and so on. Mitch, make the calls!!!

[Comment ID #23751 Will Be Quoted Here]

r u crazy??? if u were the gm of the grizzlies or the kings, would u give up artest or gasol for kwame and luke?? wake up man! yes kwame’s expiring contract is tempting but thats pretty much all they’re getting. luke is worthless. if you want to make a serious run…i say kwame odom crit luke for gasol and mike miller. griz get a young pg, an expiring contract, and two quality players.

  • LEADERFISH

Well Lebron won the last matchup between him and Kobe. Let’s see if Kobe can even it up.

  • mplakers

i’m not gonna do your work for you ab4sure…go look it up…as much of a stalker as you are on here…you should know exactly know which article it was and the date and time that you posted your comment about fg %. freaky weird ab4sure, freaky weird…and you have noticed that sasha is right along side kobe and farmar in the fourth quarter…and that i didn’t say farmar can’t hit shots in the fourth..i stated that sasha has already hit game winning shots. two different things. can you grasp that idea????

  • ab4sure

Of course not going to do the work because it would show you lost….so don’t say you won an argument and not bring up the facts. You not willing to find the info because it doesn’t back up what you say. This is typical of the arguments you give…. You can’t back it up ….btw… sometimes Sasha is with them but he never gets in ahead of Farmar… who is always the first and usually the last one out there????? ….Farmar not Sasha.

Also, who is stalking who????….You were the first to reply to me on this article….Again your facts are Wrong.

  • T-Dub

We just don’t match up well against the Cavs. They are too strong in the front court for Luke, Lamar, and Kwame. Kobe is sounding unworried and keeping a brave front. Isn’t that what he did all last year until we got bounced from the playoffs? His main argument is that the FO did nothing to improve this team. Whats Changed?? Draft picks( Bynum, Farmar, Turiaf) are starting to play well, but no moves to improve. The same guys are here ( Sasha, Mihm, Lamar, Kwame, Luke). Without Bynum, this a very mediocre team. Without Kobe, a lottery team. When Kobe is asked if he still wants to be traded, or wants to retire a Laker, all he says is ” we have to wait and see how things play out”. This aint over!

  • e

couldnt agree with u any less t-dubb…honestly, why couldnt we have traded lamar instead of caron…imagine how good we could have been…but whatever, whats done is done…we need someone to pick up the second scoring option and soon

[Comment ID #23768 Will Be Quoted Here]

I have to completely disagree with this. You think Cleveland matches up better? That’s complete nonsense. Other than Lebron and Ilgauskaus (who if he gets off will be due to the fact that Bynum isn’t there), who do the Cavs have that are “too strong”. Drew Gooden, the man they have been trying to trade for going on 2 years! If you thought LO’s stats were bad in the Dallas game, do you realize that Drew Gooden had 0 points and 2 boards in their loss to Phoenix on Friday (he’s inconsistent). Larry Hughes is WAY too inconsistent (he’s their version of LO) as is Daniel Gibson. Ira Newble is terrible and Damon Jones barely even plays. As for Sideshow Bob (Varajao), all he is, is energy, if the Lakers can match his enery, then you can keep him at bay. Other than Lebron, Cleveland is like Jeckyl and Hyde.

With regards to Kobe, I think Kobe knows that when his team his healthy, they are pretty damn good. Don’t you remember when the Lakers were at full strength, that Kobe was playing an average of what, 32-32 minutes a game and that they played best when the ball moved around and Kobe would only score 20 pts a night. Kobe would be a complete idiot if he is seeing the emergency of Bynum, Farmar, Turiaf (especially Bynum) and want still wants to leave. Don’t also forget, if were going to quote Kobe, “championship calibur”. Bynum does HAVE to be there, but when he is “championship calibur”.

  • Lakers

I just noticed that you guys put Denver Nuggets instead of Mavericks

  • Lamar 4 MVP

lakers got to get these 2 at home before going on the road. its vital for them to regain confidence.

  • mplakers

delusional ab4sure delusional…go back and check…i posted about ronny, farmar, and sasha as great players off the bench and then you went on a rampage like you had pms or something…look just calm down ok everything is going to be ok…just chillax…lolololol

  • Roscoe

this year we won’t be bounced from the play offs. point is lakers are going to second round or wcf depending on play off match ups. if bynum is back in the groove upon return we’re money.

  • Flush Odumb

It looks like the fog has finally lifted and we are at long last rid of all of the IDIOTIC Lame-ar Lovers, hopefully once and for all!

As lousy as he is, Lame-ar is probably the most tradeable of our expendable pieces (i.e., Lame-ar, Luke, Kwame, Sasha, Vlad Rad, Mihm, Karl) and since so many half-brained “anal-ists” are still mindlessly beating the “versatility” drum on this turkey, hopefully we can get something of value for him after this season.

To anyone proposing a “championship” roster after making a trade… If the name ODUMB is on there – FORGET IT! REJECT! RE-DO!

It should be CLEAR to anyone with HALF A BRAIN that this loser has got to go! He is not going to be the next Scottie Pippen! He is not going to be an All Star. The experiment has been a flop! Sorry folks but it ain’t gonna happen! GAME OVER!

  • mplakers

sidestep your points ab4sure??? show me evidence of that. you asked for stats you got it…and you still refuse to admit your onesided view on things.

leaderfish…who are you? you sound vaguely familiar. remind me again how you got to be bedbuddies with ab4sure.

on basketball matters – i never thought i’d see the day that kobe would blow a chippy to win us a game regardless of a foul call or not. on that note, i was very uncomfortable with the line-up out there to finish the game. my girlfriend actually said “luke and odom? ahhh we lost for sure now”

game winning shots require outside shooters to spread the defense. where was sasha and farmar? three in a row phil…three in a row.
