TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Nets

It seems like ever since that second half meltdown against the Hornets, the Lakers have dominated teams in the second half. Tonight was just another example. The Lakers looked decent through the first 30 minutes of the game, but blew it open midway through the third.

The bench took care of business again, as the Lakers cruised to their twelfth win of the season. It all started with defense in the second half, as the Nets were held to under 35% shooting for the game.

Another key stat for the Lakers — 24 assists, 9 turnovers. The Lakers also pulled down 51 rebounds, much help from the Nets for all their missed shots.

Isn’t it amazing that Kobe can shoot 5-17 and have 12 points, yet the Lakers win by 27?!

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers -

1) Pau was a beast tonight. 9-12 shooting en route to 26 points and 8 boards.

2) Farmar’s 18 points was great, but his 4 steals were even more impressive.

3) As good as Bynum played, he gave up a lot to Lopez. Odom had another good game tonight and had 13 points in 20 minutes of play.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Kobe seemed a bit off for more of the game. No worries as the rest of the team picked up the slack.

Play of the Game: Farmar to Ariza on the break for the oop.

What to Look for Next Game: Another win against the Mavs. As good as Kidd is playing, the Lakers are playing too well.

Ticket Info: Mavs game tickets start at $55 each for uppers — prices aren’t cheap and might go up for the Friday night sell out. E-mail me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 818-387-8224 and mention TLN.

Go Lakers!
