While fans didn’t get Tacos tonight, they did get another W. Nine Lakers entered the game tonight — eight of them scored double figures. That is what I call balance!

The Lakers had 28 assists tonight and shot the ball over 51% from the field. One of the only downers was the fact that Salmons got to the hoop at will and the Lakers had 17 turnovers. I love it when the Lakers slack off and still win by 10.

Tonight was also a night where no Laker hit 34 minutes as the starters got plenty of rest.

Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker Performers

1) Lamar came off the bench and hit 7 shots in 9 attempts. He also had 7 boards, 3 assists, a steal and a block. L.O. Show is back!

2) Ariza was impressive again. 11 points, 11 boards, 5 assists and 3 steals.

3) The only thing that keeps Kobe out of number one is his poor defense on Salmons who had an easy night at the rim. Kobe had 24 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): This is tough. Fish is the only Laker who struggled from the field, but I don’t think he did bad. I’ll leave this up to you guys. Sound-off!

Play of the Game: Odom’s block and transition layup.

What to Look for Next Game: Another win against the Nets.

Ticket Info: Nets game tickets start at $33 each for uppers, $115 each for VIP PREMIERS. Email me at Steve@AveryTickets.com or call 818-387-8224 and mention TLN.

Go Lakers!

seemed like a stroll through the park. seemed like that the kings were ale to stay close, but it was really only because…1.) the lakers had half interest and 2.) they played their reserves practically the entire 2nd quarter on. it was great that our 2nd unit had a whole lot of valuable time on the court.
it should be more of this next game against the nets. it will come in handy against dallas on friday. anyway, great win for the lakes!

  • Alekz

    STD = Fish or Phil

  • domz

STD would be sasha..coz he’s the lowest scorer among those who played..lol

Dont underestimate the Nets..they beat the Raps

  • The Cougar

STD: Lakers defense as a whole… allwoing 108 points to a martinless kings team.. but great offense… and way to pull out a win at home… Ariza is legit!

  • gstoneballer

great game!! all though the defensive intensity was extremely lacking.

  • bernz

Lakers are L for LEGIT… Great way to keep everyone fresh for the next game…

Best bench mob, best player, best team… leaves nothing to the imagination. LOL.

U make Raptors sound like the Celtics or something…another scrub team

But as for the STD, definitely agree with Sasha being it. He has some stupid plays, especially a certain foul which led to a run.

  • http://www.nicklachey.us Nick Lachey USA

    LO played amazing =).

  • MR. JUAN_YOUR WARLOCK

STD is without a doubt Phil “The Grateful” Jackson, for almost allowing the momentum swing of the 4th quarter, in favor of the Kings, to go un-debated for too long… The look of relief and gratefulness were all over Jackson’s face during the press conference… When will the stubbornness of Jackson’s unwillingness to USE his timeouts (Which do not carry over btw, unlike his cell phone minutes) in order to squash opponent’s momentum sooner rather than later, cease… WTF is he trying to prove. (No other coaches in the league use this PHILosophy!)… This will come back and bite-em in the rear someday, Big Time! …If the Kings would have some how gotten a few more breaks towards the end and pulled out this huge upset, there would have been egg all over Jackson’s face… Correction: More like omelets over my hammy!

  • HiYo2o

The only reason Phil does that is so he can get his bench guys to play under pressure and be ready for anything, remember this is still a young team. Only Kobe and Fisher is over 30.

  • nabil

Yeah, I think we had like a 19 point lead there in the fourth or late third, right? Then the bench mob lets the kings get it down to like 4. So phil came back with the super speedy team (Farmar, Kobe, Ariza, LO, Pau), except with Fish instead of Farmar, to put it away. And it worked. It’s great to have so many units and looks. LO/Pau seem to really have a groove together more then LO/Bynum or Pau/Bynum.

  • jason420_7

sloppy win..won this game with talent not effort..offensive end was good but it was the kings so thats no suprise..but total lack of effort on defense wich is just unexcusable..kings had over 50 points in the paint and that just shouldnt happen…all in all..a wins a win so good job..i guess u cant bring that playoff intensity every night or youd wear yourself out so..good win lakers..just dont think u can do this every night (i know u wont)

  • daboss1849

STD is Luke for sure… Even though he didn’t get into the game just him sitting on the bench and getting paid 30 mil. for absolutly nothing has to irk some of the players who are making a lot less and playing a lot more…

  • KONG!

[Comment ID #55426 Will Be Quoted Here]

agreed, luke is a waste of a player spot. i mean, what reserve would you rather play; ariza or walton?

  • jason420_7

obviously hes makin too much money to ride the bench..but if someone gets hurt i’ll be glad we have him there

Thank you dude. That is exactly true. Wow we have so many ignorant people on here, meaning they don’t even know how and why PHIl makes the coaching desisions he does. Like I bet most of them became a LAKER fan this year or they are just ignorant in general. And how the hell are any of you guys going to question PHIL, of all coaches, coaching job??????? He knows what he is doing. he has been coaching for i don’t know like 16ish seasons. Sure he has had guys like jordan and pippen, KOBE and shaq, now KOBE, BIG DREW, PAU, ODOM, DEREK, shit the whole LAKER squad this season. But the guy knows what he is doing and any team you through at him he will know how to make that team win. And plus coaches don’t make teams WIN or lose, players do.

  • ICE CREAM MAN

Smush of the day is Luke because he woke up the day of the game and decided to show up and sit the pine. Yes decided because if he would of worked out his weak spots of his game like everything then there would be no choice but to play him but because he DECIDED not the work his game out then he ends up on the pine.

  • ojt

std is always LUKE freaking WALTON. But he ‘s better on the bench than in the court as he would just score for the opposite team.Must be pretty s**t feelings knowing you can’t play ball but than againKLuke has no pride, except being Pj’s Bi*CH.Maybe luke you can get your sorry a** dad to get Boston Celtics to trade, shoot dice,or give a bag of peanuts for you… JUST GET OUT OF LA.

  • ojt

Remember Luke, Wax on ,Wax off.wax that Bench,b***h!

  • IrieVibes

luke would be serviceable if he would just develop a shot.

  • DCLAKER

I think the Wizards take Luke and LAKERNATION gets Caron and Stevenson…I CAN’T STAND THE WIZARDS RIGHT NOW,BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Sorry Lakernation but Eddie Jordan is the best thing to happen to DC,not just Gilbert….I wish I lived in LA sometimes..or born there.

    CARON OR T-MAC.com,which one,now or 2010?

  • LakersFirst

Sasha needs to improve his defense. I don’t get it, a few years ago, he was a decent defender as he would be a pest to the other teams’ ballhandlers. But last year and this year, he seems to be getting beat a little too easy.

Ignorance is truly Bliss… Bliss #1, there is much less pressure on players, when playing from a lead of almost 20 points… Bliss #2, obviously, some little boys have never experienced what it’s like to compete hard, on an organized level, public stage, and among men. These little boys will always defer to their super heroes as they (The Heroes), can do no wrong; in their own little blissfully blessed world…. Word of Advice: Pay attention to detail, and be critical of mistakes in order to learn. When you have your opponent down, step on them! Like if they were cockroaches. SQUASH THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF THEM! Do not let them EVEN THINK they have a prayer, of even the slightest chance of success, when competing against you… This level of ruthlessness towards an opponent will completely take any self esteem away from them and they will feel intimidated when going up against you in any future forum… This is what the Boston Celtics did to the majority of their opponents last year, and why they are in the Detroit Pistons “head”, at the present time… This is the way I always approach an opponent on any level of competition, in any type of game and/or competitive forum, hence, my desire for Jackson to immediately squash any belief of that opponent, into thinking about any kind of resurrection… Before you lash out with blissful ignorance you would be wiser to bring a better argument to the table than that weak little s h i t you threw out there, LITTLE FOOL!
