TLN’s Post-Game Report: Lakers vs. Hornets

trev.jpgAnother blowout? I can get used to this! Tonight’s victims: New Orleans Hornets. The Hornets suffered a 29 point thrashing tonight. Once again the Lakers share the ball as they have 25 assists and 7 different players with 9 or more points (Yes, even Kwame had some fun tonight).

In my prediction, I said the Lakers would win if they held Chris Paul to under 7 assists. He had 5 tonight. Even though he had 32 points on great shooting, he didn’t get any one else involved which fit right into the Lakers game plan. Lakers contested shots tonight and played great defense. The best part of tonight – ONLY 8 TURNOVERS! All I have to say is it is about time.

The Lakers continued their lights out shooting. They started 8-8 for the game and finished at 55% and 43% from behind the arc. Now, the bests of the night…

Top 3 Laker performers:

1) Kobe had 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. He also had 3 steals and only 1 turnover. He drew many fouls, but the refs only called a few of them. Great game Kobe.

2) Andrew shot 8-10, was active on the glass and held Chandler to only 7 boards. Bynum also had 9 boards, 4 assists, and 3 blocks.

3) While our starting forwards played amazing, Ariza stepped up yet again! 4-6 shooting and 7 boards. He is always just in the right place at the right time.

Lakers Smush of the Day (Note: STD denotes the Laker that played the poorest): Once again, I can’t find a STD tonight. Maybe Vlad Rad? Or Cook again?

Key play of the game: Bynum’s rebound over Chandler and quickly back up for a dunk.

What to look for next game: An easy W. Redd is still hurt. The Bucks aren’t that good. Game is Friday night @ 7:30 PM (FSN locally).
